I have never seen any wiper blade, no matter the cost, last longer than 6 months. I always replace mine in spring and fall.
April 10, 2017 at 8:01 pm #1687559I like the cheap rain x blades. I have tried the high $ rain x blades and I actually think they are worse. As mentioned, about the best thing you can do is change after winter and before winter. I am also a fan of the rain x windshield washer fluid. If you use it spray it on regularly it does a good job of maintaining a film to reduce rain drop build up. Not as good and buffing rain x on but good enough to keep me from waxing and buffing my windshield…
April 10, 2017 at 8:21 pm #1687562I’ve tried them all and Bosch is by far the best Rain X is way overrated. Here in Illinois they use a ton of salt they don’t spread it they tailgate it and it eats up wiper blades. The Bosch brand seems to hold up the best. Glenn

Not impressed. used bosch before with no probelems but I think the new bulky locking mechanism they use catches the wind or something.
April 10, 2017 at 10:30 pm #1687591Bosch. As with others, I’ve tried all kinds of blades. The base model Bosch is the best I’ve found.

April 10, 2017 at 10:34 pm #1687594I’m still having no issues at all with the blades that came with my 2500HD Chev.
Oh ya I bought it new Feb 2012TipUpFishOnPosts: 153April 12, 2017 at 3:34 pm #1688002The Bosch Icon blades my wife and I had on our cars lasted a long time and did a great job. I recently switched both of our vehicles to Trico Force blades and love them. Ordered from rock auto for a third of the price of the auto parts stores. Did not like Rain X blades as others have stated.
April 12, 2017 at 3:48 pm #1688005In the Upper Midwest, it’s foolish to spend any large amount of money on wiper blades. Winters are hard on anything that’s on the exterior of an automobile.
I’d rather invest the few extra $ I save on a rain-x treatment. With it properly buffed on a windshield, it takes quite a downpour to make me turn the wipers on (thus saving on the life of the blades).huskerduPosts: 592April 12, 2017 at 7:11 pm #1688039Turning on the wipers with ice on the glass will shorten the life as will parking outside, the sun eats them up.
November 6, 2018 at 1:59 pm #1808086Reviving an old thread. I thought I’d share my findings.
I put these on in June of this year and can say they still work as good as the day I installed them. I found a recommendation online about buying silicone wiper blades because they last years, not months. So far, I’m a believer.

CaptainMuskyPosts: 22704November 6, 2018 at 2:23 pm #1808089I am sure the silicone is superior in many cases to the rubber, but I will NEVER use a wiper blade with exposed arms again in winter. Damn things freeze up causing you to do the reach around to snap the crap off so you get a clear wipe.
November 6, 2018 at 4:36 pm #1808141Trico Force from Rock Auto. almost exactly 1/3 the price of the big O. Once a year I’ll order air filters, 2-3 oil filters each and wiper blades for each car from rock auto for wayyyy less than any auto parts store. Oil at Wally World…
November 6, 2018 at 5:54 pm #1808150I’ve tried all the Trico, Bosch, Rain X blades with limited satisfaction. None even come close to these. Not even close.

Depending on your vehicle, PIAA does make some without the exposed arm. The ones I got for the wife’s car are the contour type. They work great too. They didn’t make the contour type for my truck. Go directly to PIAAs website to order. Price is no object if they last 4 times longer than a rubber blade. Believe me.

x2
I switched both my truck and car over the them. I cant talk for their duribility but so far they are incredible. I have never had a blade as quiet and effective as the ICONs. They are not terrible, but not cheap, at about 18 bucks each on Amazon depending on the size you need.

Tried them. Start out great but only last a couple months.

uninc4709Posts: 169November 7, 2018 at 10:53 am #1808264been using a set of bosch icons for close to 2.5 years here in MN. I will definitely be replacing them whenever these go bad.
Highly suggest the bosch icon!
