Best Truck Tire – HELP

My daily work trailer is a 5×8 vnose, on average probably #2-2500k with tools. Didn’t need value tires, needed the best and decided on the goodyear duratracs. Few people I know we’re underwhelmed by the dynapros, and the discount tire guy said all the workers who have trucks, buy those. Vehicle is a Yukon Denali, so it’s AWD, when I press the gas it goes and when I brake it stops. Never had “snow” tires before so I have no comparison.

Not a fan of driving, and when I do it’s speed limit, but this winter with all this snow and when I take my trailer off it’s pretty dam fun to rip around with the truck.

The Hankook Dynapro ATM is still listed on Hankook’s website, so I really doubt the rumors that it’s being discontinued.

I see they have a new Dynapro AT2 that has piqued my interest. It looks slightly less aggressive than the ATM along with a better tread wear rating.

My Sequoia needs some new tires, and I was planning on the ATMs, but maybe I will hold off and try out the AT2s.

Edit: Looks like the AT2 will be replacing the ATM.

I just ordered a set of the new Dynapro AT2s for my Sequoia. Discount Tire has a 10% rebate promotion going through the weekend (15% if you use a Discount Tire card), and Hankook has an additional $60 rebate through 7/14.

It needs them, and that’s a solid deal. Fingers crossed that I like them!

Mine definitely need replacing before winter. The current ones are definitely an on-road SUV tire, so I am looking forward to getting something a little more aggressive on there. I’ve been waiting for the sale. yay

Unfortunately, my car also needs tires before winter. doah

I have about 40 miles on the new Hankooks, so I can’t offer any insight yet, but the Bridgestones that I had (they were on it when I bought it) were definitely a highway tire, and they were about at the end of their useful life. I wanted something with a more aggressive tread pattern, and I have been pleased with Dynapro ATMs in the past, so I thought I would try their successor.

Its that time again. I need to replace my tires before winter truly sets in. The Hankook’s I put on when I made this original post are now almost 4 years old and have around 60,000 miles on them. Overall I was real happy with them. With my truck getting a fair amount of rust on the rocker panels I’m probably going to be replacing it next summer so don’t want to spend top $ for tires. Curious what everyone is going with these days????

Nitro Grapplers G2. 10ply. Great for tread life, towing, minimal road noise for an A/T. Overall awesome tire.

I went with the new Hankook early this year and like them. I’ll be putting the snows on soon then back to the relatively new Hankooks next spring. Third year on the same set of snows. I cannot say enough about them. I highly recommend two sets of tires. Especially if you tow in the winter.

Discount Tire has a $110 off a set right now. If your getting rid of it just get a middle price set.

Agreed. Money spent on tires is something that’s never recovered when selling/trading. Go with something relatively cheap.

Pretty sure you can say this about anything to do with a vehicle. Even the vehicle itself lol
