Surprised nobody has mentioned The Michelin m/s. Great traction and you can get up to 80k out of them. You will pay a bit more for them. But cost per mile is very good.

Have to agree with the the post on the Toyo Open Country AT2’s. Had them on my last truck and they performed awesome. Had 50K+ miles on them and still looked and performed great. I bought a new truck and am waiting a bit till the crappy Goodyear stockers are wore down a bit, but there is no questions I will be putting the Toyo Open Country AT2’s back on.

I’m looking for a all season tire with rather aggressive tire. A little road noise is OK with me ( after all it is a truck ) I do a fair amount of Towing a boat and get off road a fair amount when hunting and ice fishing

I had 2 sets of Firestone Destination AT. They run through the snow like you have chains on your tires. In fact, my old truck pulled a buddy out with chains on his tires.

They are quiet and fairly aggressive. You’ll get 50-60K on them. Never an issue with leaks or punctures. They are up there in price but we’ll worth the safety in my opinion. I went with load E on my F150 for use with a pickup camper. Only a very slight flat spot on cold mornings.

Michelin is all I will buy. I’ve gotten suckered on trying other brands and ended up pizzed every time. I consistently get 75-80k miles, great all around for wet and snow. Saving 150 to 200 dollars on tires that only lasted 35 to 50k tops has been a joke. Not on me anymore, won’t play that game. Only way I’ll run different tires is if I’m paid to.

All other tires in my opinion are engineered for entertainment purpose

Randy what size truck you running these on? I have a dodge 2500 diesel. I have the Cooper AT3 on them and they ran out of tread real quick. 25,000 miles. They wore evenly but lost the tread quick. Rotated and balanced every 4,000 miles. That was included with the purchase so why not. Thanks.

    3- GMC 2500HDs duramax
    1 dodge 2500 cummins
    1- smash Ford F250 gasser
1- smash smash smash F150 gasser. Tires out lasted the truck shock

All load range E. Unless you have a pretty boy truck, Es seem to be the only way to go.

just ordered my fourth set of hankook dynapro atm’s last night.
ten ply with white lettering through walmart,119.00 each.
fifty three bucks each cheaper than what I can get them for anywhere close to me.

fifty thousand mile tread warranty, the local shop will mount and balance them for fifteen bucks each,I can go wrong there I dont think.
we drive a lot of gravel and I am perfectly happy getting 55-58 thousand miles out of them for what the FW and I put them through.

I have run just about everything. I tow almost everyday run a diesel f350 I have had good luck with coopers. They get about 35000 decent for a diesel truck especially with the heavy towing and plowing. Ben price is their best part. I like the transforce from firestone very good tire but a lot more. Same with hankook. Lasted a bit longer but not to offset the cost of coopers. Coopers are a softer tire which is why less wear. E others are harder rubber which last longer but also don’t grip as well. Really depends on you driving usage.

I’ve had great luck with nitto terra grapplers. I drive 40-50K per year for work and have gotten between 90-95K out of each of the last three sets. I just put another set on a month ago. mine are e rated (10 ply)

I just posted this on another thread. My 2 cents.

I had also heard from a friend that he loved his AT3’s on his plow truck. So, I in turn put new AT3 slippers on about 20,000 ago. They look like crap.. I’ve rotated them, haven’t been any harder on them than the average Joe, and IMHO they aren’t that good in the snow.. Next time, I’ll be going back to the Bridgestone Dueler AT’s. I really liked those tires and they were GREAT in the snow and ice.

Not much love for the Goodyear Duratrac. Sold my last truck when they had 50k on them, not enough for another winter though. If you dont mind not being able to hear the radio over the road noise they are a great tire.

I just thought I give a update. Based on the Info. that I received from others here, I decided to go with the Hankook Dynapro ATM’s. After 2 weeks of use I have to say I’m really happy with them so far. I find the noise and ride to be much better than the cooper’s. The grip on wet and icy roads seems to be Great so far. At this time I guess its just a matter of time to see how well they hold up over time. I hope to do a much better job of getting these ones rotated better than I have in the past. I’m sure that will help a lot as well.

I’m also in this boat. I don’t see these Coopers lasting past 40k miles. Wearing down quickly. Running them on a 07 Chev 3500. So don’t mind the noise. tongue Also bought on price at the time….. doah frown

I believe I have found one major reason my Coopers are wearing out fast. Especially the front tires. Turns out I have (had) a defective tire pressure gauge. The gauge was reading 30 PSI low. So when I filled to the recommended 80 psi, I was running about 110 psi. doah Figured this out over the weekend when I checked pressure with a different tire gauge. Probably been running high for the last 6 months or about 1500-2000 miles.

Can’t ever recall hearing about bad tire gauges. Thought I’d mention it here. Especially with my last tire comment above.

Wow, even 80 seems high Jon, I think my door jam recommends 60 psi in the front and 80 psi in the rear and I run about 60 psi in both seem to have a bit smoother ride, especially since I am almost always not hauling a very heavy payload. I can’t imagine 110 psi, especially up front. I am guessing your truck recommends the same or very similar to mine as I know that they are very similar.

Anything under about 75 will light up the TPMS warning lights on the dash.

Rough ride? Its a one ton work truck! Only time it runs smooth is when its loaded down!

Yea, mine only really smooths out with a load, but basically a load of any size will do. I also fortunately don’t have the TPMS in my 3500, cant stand that light and have no problem checking tires PSI regularly…

I am shopping for tires again. My past few sets have been Nitto Terra grapplers have wore great and went 80k+ on them. I am looking around but I have no problem buying another set. My Dodge has light load button you can set when you are not hauling and drop the tire pressure to 45 lbs instead of 70.

Hankook Dynapro ATM. Hands down the best tire I have found. Ran Bridgestone Duelers, Cooper AT2,AT3band all of them don’t compare to the Hankooks. IMO

Very happy with my ATM’s. 62000 on them now. Was nervous on how they’d do this winter on the road and lake, but no problems what so ever. Would recommend them to anyone.

The Michelin M/S. Best all-around truck tire out there. Great traction, low noise and you can get up to 80k out of them.

BF Goodrich All terrain TA, only tire I will buy.
    Great handling, traction and wear.
I’ve had 4 sets and I’m always getting at least 80,000 on each set, never had a problem with any tire failure!
