Buy the brand that has the thickest internal plates. If two “equal” brands of same series are compared, buy the heavier of the two. One could weigh 46# and a better built battery with thicker plates could weigh 56#
I have great luck with interstate batteries deep cycle batteries, working in the automotive and agricultural repair industry, thats the only brand I use in everything, warranty is covered world wide,I will let a cat out of the bag here when I tell you that you can go to their warehouse and by a blemmed battery for around 35-45 bucks,90 day warranty. the only reason they call it a blem is that the battery has set in a dealership or warehouse beyond the six month sale time, they cycle them and load check them to full potential,re-label them and discount the daylights out of them.
I have bought several of their batteries this way and never once had a failure,I feel great about it when I can get two or three years out of them, sure helps with the expense of fishing these days!! especially when most large marine batteries are costing around 135-170 bucks and dont last any longer than a blem.

here in Iowa, they have a warehouse in in DesMoines, and they keep several at their loading depot in Huxley.if you have a Interstate dealer in MN,an independent repair facility for example, ask them where there warehouse is,or google Interstate batteries, sorry,I dont have a link for you other than that, but you shouldnt have to much trouble finding one.
Best I can figure is he’s talking about their warehouse distribution centers. I did a check and there is one in Des Moines and Huxley. They are in every state, you just have to go to the Interstate Battery website and search for distributors on their store locator feature.
I know I’ll be checking my area distributor out (WI), if the prices are that low. Always had good luck with their automotive batteries, but never used their marine.
Closest one to Zimmerman MN is in Bloomington off 494. They are not open on weekends, according to the IB website.
thanks shamus,I am used to just calling it a warehouse,if they are out of the battery you are looking for, here they will put you on a list and notify you when they have some,it would be a good idea to check with your local dealer as well, sometimes they will keep these on hand,we have a couple here that do,and they sell them for a small profit, usually around 50 bucks, still very cheap though,I know that now I let the cat out of the bag on these, there will be a run on them. the last one I bought was only 40 dollars, used it for three years. you may find more of them available in late fall or early spring.
one piece of advise as I see batteries fail on a regular basis in my line of work that are used in marine and agricultural applications, use a good maintainer on them!!! batteries dont like non-use or extreme cold, and if in a boat with a lot of electronic goodies, disconnect the batteries as some of those goodies have a low draw rate that will drain them, then they will freeze.

I have the cabelas AGM batteries with a 80 ft/lb terrova on a 1650 crest liner fish hawk. I have used the trolling motor for 10 hours straight and the battery life readout on my terrova still reads full.
I’ve had good luck with the Walmart EverStart brand.

That is what I have been running. Never had to but there seems to be a Walmart somewhat nearby if I have a warranty issue.
