Best Trailer Hitch Mount with a 1-2″ rise?

I purchased a new vehicle and the trailer hitch is mounted lower than my previous tow vehicle so i’m likely going to need a 1-2″ rise on my hitch ball mount insert. This will be used with a 3,500lb boat so I want something that’s beefy enough to handle that weight with ease (basically overbuilt)

I’ve used a basic straight Curt hitch mount in the past, but I don’t think their 2″ rise model looks strong enough…

    What’s a good solution?

Lastly, I assume the bolted on ball with lock washer is better than the welded on design?

The aluminum drop hitches can be reversed to go up if needed? I have a trimax brand one and like it.

I was pushed away from aluminum because of it loosing shape and blah blah blah. I went with a bullet proof adjustable steel hitch. But tractor supply offers many different variations. Just read the ratings

I have seen drop hitches upside down to accomplish this. I have no idea if that is ok.

They have drops that are designed just for this.

Any drop can be flipped to rise.
As long as you dont need an adjustable hitch…
If you are looking of heavy duty just get a solid shank rather than a tube and welded hitch.
Most any FF, farm and fleet and Northern tool and such will carry options like the one in the link.

If you want adjustable I’ve NOT had good luck with aluminium.

Add me into the group who thinks the aluminum ones are junk.

I had one that had more play than any hitch I’ve ever used. It was noticeable towing anything from a light utility trailer, 17′ boat, and up to a tritoon that’s probably ~5000# give or take.

This may be a little heavier than you need.
