Best time of year for new rifle purchase

I haven’t done alot of gun shopping. Bought one here and there cause I saw a deal, or needed one. So for those that buy more often, is there a time of year a guy would find on average the best prices? I’m looking to upgrade as well as buy a new rifle for my oldest son, as his will get passed down to the next.
Figured I’d look closely at black Friday, and maybe the reeds gun sale.
    Thanks.

Any time right after an election is a good time lol. Some gun shops will have black Friday deals.

There were a ton of good deals a few weeks before deer season. Get on BPS, Cabelas, Reeds and so on email list.

Every day if you sign up for emails from the big internet vendors. I’ve yet to see cabelas come close to other vendors on a few of the rifles I’ve been watching prices on. Heck even our local FFL storefronts are beating the big box stores on prices for most items right now.

I’ve gotten some great deals by checking Gun Broker and Reeds online. I mean if I owned guns…

If you are near a Scheel’s store, the period between Christmas and New Years is when their individual area managers dump merchandise so they do not carry inventory. Part of their bonus is based upon lack of $$$ in inventory at year end. You can find some surprisingly stupid-low prices at times.

I have found really good deals through this website. Granted you will have to pay an ffl fee and have it shipped there. Most of the small shops around me charge around $30. Also free shipping and no sales tax.

I don’t know what your purchase timeline is but the Reed’s Sports Rice Creek Gun Fair was good to me this past spring. I saved $750 off MSRP on my .280 AI. Best price I could find at the time by a large margin.

If you can’t attend I know Reed’s was honoring gun fair pricing printed in the flyer at their stores or online.

I plan to close the studio and take all the IDO employees this coming spring. The chance to test fire an almost endless number of guns for free from the manufacturers in attendance is worth the price of admission alone.
