I’ve been running a 185 competitor tiller with a Suzuki 90 with the stock prop on the motor. Performance is good but I’m thinking about getting a stainless steel one. Should I also consider changing the pitch? I believe it comes with a 13-23. Thoughts?

Have you checked Alumacraft’s website? They generally have performance test data like that posted for most models.

Need to know a few things to make the right choice. What is your Max RMP right now trimmed up on Plane? and what is the max RPM of that motor? Also how is your hole shot? Going to a 4 blade will get you up and out of the water quicker.

I went from a 3 blade on my old motor to a 4 blade and what a difference take off is.

Yes but didn’t find a test that matched. That was a year ago so I’ll check again.
    Thanks

Ya hole shot could be better, I had a 4 blade stainless on a Warrior with a 120hp and it was excellent. I was looking at the top RPM for my Suzuki and it can go up to 6k. I don’t thing mine rig will hit over 5500 trimmed up and 30-32 mph.

Go to Tom Boley’s fishing website and try asking him what he ran on his last year (he has a Warrior now) with a 90hp Suzuki and was running 36mph.

Alumacraft usually has on their website their test results I’d start there.

That’s pretty good for a 90. My buddy is in the mid 20s but his is a Honda which aren’t known for speed.

Update: late last season I ordered a Solex Rubex 3, same pitch as the OEM Suzuki prop. Better hole shots, 3-4 mph and now turns 6200 rpm no problem. Most likely why the additional few mph. These props require a hub kit that is a separate part. Install was easy. Very happy with this prop!
