Need to buy a whole bunch of various lures & spoons, line, “fishing stuff” for Xmas presents. Anybody had good luck with an online company other than Cabela’s or Fleet Farm (e.g. FishUSA, TackleDirect, etc.?)

    Thanks

I prefer rapala.com You get a discount if it’s your first purchase from the website. Plus it has all the other brands rapala owns.

IF you’re looking for trout/salmon trolling spoons check out Marine General.

I’ve been ordering from Tackle Warehouse for about 8 years, never had an issue. Order on Monday, free shipping for an order over $50 has it at your door in MN on Friday. Their 25 days of Christmas sale is going on right now, a new deal every day for 25 days. Ordered a bunch of Seaguar line last week, all at 30-35% off.

Be aware, if you’re ordering this close to Christmas, the last day to order and still expect to get your items by the 25th is tomorrow, the 15th.

The other online retailer I use from time to time is landbigfish.com. I don’t like them as well as Tackle Warehouse (only because of the website layout) but they have the same free shipping for orders over $50.

Being in the metro I think you should support the families of the brick & mortar stores in town. Joe’s, Thorne Brothers just to name a couple. But if you need to order from your couch go for it. grin

Marine General, if you live in MN, order in the afternoon one day, shows up the next.
FishUSA, TackleWarehouse, have used both and no complaints.
There are a number of others, but I don’t find myself repeating business when them like I do Marine General, FishUSA or TW.

Bought a couple reels from TackleDirect and I inadvertently ordered the wrong ones. Return and customer service was very good.

Have had great service from Kruger Farms. They have even price matched when I’ve asked. Or order enough and sometimes they will give a discount.

Funny I just found a small online tackle store in wi specializing in ice gear.
I went to check out with a total of $7 and shipping came to $10! Needless to say I emptied my cart and aborted the sale.
