Hey, Where do you go to get the best cuts of meat?
Von Hanson’s is my go to, good selection great service.
Gregg’s in Hampton has good meat and good prices, but could have a better selection, great bacon.
That place in Hugo has great Brat’s
The Clearlake meat market on Hiway 10 is must stop on the way up north great Jerky.
I grade them on Jerky, Bacon and Brats.

I have enjoyed meats from both Greg’s and the Clearwater / Clear Lake stop. I also thought there was a place called McDonald’s meats or something like that on the route north of the cities too. These places are tough on my wallet….

Going the other way, Lake Coutry Meats off Hwy. 50 East of Lake Geneva, Wi has great brats and cured smoked flank steak that is awesome. And there was a small country market off Hwy. 14 south of Janesville but that place closed a few years ago.

Adolph Meats in Hermantown. Stop there often on the way to the Ash River Trail. Their chicken breasts are the size of Ostrich!! grin

Absolute best I have ever found.

McDonald’s Meats is in Clear Lake. Hard to beat Thielen’s Meats in Pierz too.

The most consistently awesome premo expensive steaks I know of come from Kowalski’s. The ones behind the counter.USDA Prime. Trust me.

Hackenmuller Meats in Robbinsdale is without a doubt the best meat market I’ve ever been to in the Twin Cities. I really miss it.

They’re bacon is a family tradition. They have a meatloaf mixture that you add cream of mushroom soup to that is fantastic.

I dont know a lot of meat markets but Osseo meats seems to be pretty good. Just dropped my pigs off from Texas there last week. Should be gettng them back later this week. Nice steaks. Picked up some beef sticks there. They must of had 20 different varieties to choose from in the display counter. .

Hackenmueller’s is good. We moved this summer, so they’re no longer as convenient for me.

Osseo is good. Bigger selection than Hackenmueller’s and good stuff. Their selection of meat sticks and jerky is unreal.

I have heard good things about Brother’s Meat & Seafood in Maple Grove, but I haven’t been there yet.

Growing up, St. Joe Meat Market was our go to butcher.

I know of several neighborhood/family groups who make an order for anyone passing through Nicollet…..Schmidt Meats is all they can talk about. I usually stop at George’s Meats next to the convenience store on Main. Smaller place, but they have venison, elk, & buffalo jerky, along with just about any other cut you can order. Their sausage is as good as any I have tasted. Something to look at if you are traveling southwest of the Twin Cities.

    Rev,

They do have some great stuff, the jerky is great as well. Try a smoked chicken!!

Nueske’s in Wittenberg used to be my go to place but they have become to commercialized, meat is still good but the prices are crazy. I helped install the first big smokers at Nueske’s back in the early 80’s. I do go there when they have their Bacon sales, 10 lb packages but the price is good

Von Hanson’s has been good for me.

Also had good stuff from Big Steer meats off of White Bear Ave on the east side of St. Paul. Nice guys there and good with getting together an order.

Agree with Suzuki, the Kwolski’s supermarket in Woodbury, I was impressed. For a supermarket meat counter, they’re good and the guys know what they’re doing. They do pretty good fish/seafood as well, I usually end up buying something that I didn’t intend to because it look so good.
