I have a Garmin 73cv Ice Bundle. I’m looking for the best lithium battery for it.

I have been looking at the Vexilar, Marcum Brute, and Dakota Lithium so far.

I have been looking at using my 20V tool battery. There are numerous examples, and the voltage range of Garmin units seems to support it. You do need to buy your own connector to the battery, either on Amazon or EBAY, and if you are nervous about inputting 20V, you can buy a buck converter to drop the voltage to a lower value with minimal losses. A 4 AH 20V battery should go all day, based on my calculations.

Amped Outdoors, there’s a few 10% codes floating around the net for them and they also have free shipping… Amped routinely tests best (Amps per $) vs all of their competitors…I’m waiting to hear review on the new Marcum line of lithium batteries, I’m worried the insane 50% off sales they had going recently are a bad sign of their overall quality/value…

Depending on it fitting in your icepack, the Amped Outdoors 18AH battery tested as easily the best AH for your $.

Not sure on the long-term use of the brute. But mine just worked 3.5 days on one charge for my lx3. 10 to 12 hours per day.

Hoping to also use one on my garmin set up

I have been using an Amped Outdoors lithium for the last season and a half and have loved it. Have buddies that use Dakota Lithiums and love theirs. You will be happy with either one. I suggest go with the one you can find the best price on out of those two companies.

I too have been waiting to see the video that Ice Hole Power was going to do but it sounds like he hyped it up and said he was testing but then never released the video? Does anyone know where that video went or why he didn’t release it?

A quick note about Amped outdoors, they have options to select a stock charge port adapter with their chargers, so for somebody with a Garmin Panoptix/Livescope you can select the charger option with a Garmin barrel charge port adapter allowing you to use the charge port in the stock wiring harness reducing the need to connect another charge cable to the battery, so smart!

Yes and No. I saw something on FB that he was going to do another video comparing the Norsk and Marcum batteries released and how that stacked up with all the new stuff out on the market for the season.
