Wondering what some favorite lines are to use for walleye fishing, specifically the rainy river. Any tips are greatly appreciated!

My favourite line is either power pro or suffix 832 in 20lb test. Hope this helps!
Mono for me, colored so my old eyes can see it, 8lb test maybe 10lb, If there is a lot of snags, will go to a braid.
Made the switch from mono to braid a few years ago. PLayed with a few brands and sizes and finally settled on 15 lb power pro. I dont see myself switching back anytime soon, if ever. Love it for most applications. If need be I’ll add a long leader of flouro for some stretch or if fishing clear water.
Only time I dont like braid is when its cold enough for your eyelets to freeze up. Could be an issue on Rainy for ya, otherwise I’d give it the full go.
Berkley Ultra 8 Carrier 4 & 6 pound braid. Really liking it for the type of spring walleye fishing we do here in SD. The line holds up really well casting the riprap, flooded road beds, and gravel/rocky shorelines.
There is a time for Mono and Braid lines, pitching wingdams mono such as Berkely XT Solar in 6 lb using lite 1/16-1/4 ounce jigs will give the right amount of drift to work the jig across the face of a wingdam. When I am dragging jigs I prefer Berkely Fireline in 10lb 4lb diameter as it lets my lite dragging jigs run deeper with less weight.
Do you have a map?
Cause I keep getting lost in your eyes.
Maybe it`s all the whiskers you like so much.
Hi Viz 100% fluorocarbon by K-9 line…very supple, strong and super thin diameter… or Gamma Orange Copoly

Tom, does this line need a special knot? Palomar work?
I’ve been using suffix advance mono 8lb for the past year and have really liked it. I also have another similar setup with suffix advance braid 10lb that I also like a lot. Both have advantages and disadvantages, it’s nice to have both because if you start missing fish on one you can switch to the other.

Use both mono and braid with jigs and pretty interesting how some days one works significantly better than the other. Rarely use braid without a mono or fluoro leader.

I did forget to mention that I always use a fluorocarbon leader. Usually suffix 6lb-10lb.
Because I jig fish a lot, 8lb Power Pro, barrel swivel, 10-12lb floro leader.
