I’m going to say the st croix primer rods are good for the price. I really like the 13 wicked ice white out and my go to is the widow maker

I just picked up one of the new Shimano Convergeance rods in Medium Light today. Going to be great rod for the ultralight rippin raps and spoons. Will be a one two punch with it and my Bullwhip for jumbos this winter!

I fish TUCR’s and I will tell you back in the day stroking $100+ for a rod was stomach wrenching. I finally bought the quick tip about 4-5 years ago and I was besides myself on the difference from the rods i used before (jason mitchell meat stick the whole genz line and the frabils) that were nowhere the quality weight and performance. TUCR seem more expensive but in all honesty you will always be buying a newer $40-$50 rod because you won’t be satisfied with the others (at least was my experience) and they don’t hold up like a TUCR. I spent more money looking and looking and replacing cheaply made rods that kept braking than i have since i switched all my rods to TUCR’s. I use a quick tip and bull whip for the crappies, perch and gills. Amazingly sensitive and detect the smallest bits that my buddies are missing
