Best heater for clam nanook sized flip over?

All, I have had a clam nanook non insulated shack for a couple years and only used it once. The wheelhouse is gone so I’m going to use it more now. The one time I used it by myself I heated it with a big buddy. I can’t remember how cold it was outside and what setting I ran it at??? With just me there is plenty of room for the big buddy, but with 2 guys, a flasher or 2, and the big buddy it would be REAL tight. I want to downsize the size of the heater but don’t want to be under heated for real cold days. I looked at the little buddy and the regular buddy and like that they are smaller (especially the little buddy). Would the little buddy be enough??

    Thanks, Matt

I cant say much as i do not have a flip over but i have been running the portable buddy in my non insulated clam hub shelter i believe it is the big foot variety and with the cold days and 3 or 4 people in the house it heated up fine with the high setting. with plenty of room for it while using folding camping chairs in the house. Hope that helps a little

On a windy cold day I wished I had more then a buddy heater in my Nanook. On days that were not windy I do not remember needing more heat.

The little buddy is not enough in a 2 man if there is any wind or really cold!

I would recommend a small heater to screw on top of the propane bottle like the small buddy heater. They put off plenty of heat for a 2 man shack if your being stationary meaning camping out on a spot. If I was going to be mobile then I would definitely go with the big buddy heater it takes up some space but puts out alot of heat.

Hey Mike no disrespect but if you seal the flaps with sluch then you will stay plenty warm;)

The Buddy heater is enough except in below zero temps especially if there is a wind. Minimizing drafts would be important. The buddy is fine for the insulated Nanook.

I have an insulated Nanook and little buddy heater, and I usually keep the heater on pilot once it’s warmed up. I would guess you’d be fine w/ a little buddy in a non-insulated one.
