I tried using a dewalt impact drill. But for whatever reason it didn’t want to work so well. So what drill would be best for putting anchors for your shelter in the ice.

Are you talking the drill itself or the driver? I use a my small 20 volt Dewalt for this and it works fine, set it on the drill selection and speed 1 and it should work just fine. Sometimes it is easier to start it by hand.

How did it not work well? Any drill will work.
Like John said, put it in 1 and drill mode.

An impact driver wouldn’t be my go-to, but it should work nonetheless.

That and what the OP himself said, was drill, not driver.

I tried using a dewalt impact drill.
