I am mostly looking at the marcum’s. What is the best model to go for. Is the 825vs the best bang for your buck or is it not worth the extra money?
    Any help?

Personally, the 825sd has the largest screen and that’s what I run. It’s easier to see from a distance.

If you’re fishing out of a wheelhouse mostly that has a tv, I would go with a smaller monitor unit. The camera heads are the same and if you’re using a tv as a monitor might as well save a few bucks.

If price of the 825sd is an issue, keep an eye on the classifieds here and they’ll pop up now and then for lower price. Some of them have been “like new”.

(correction. I’m running the Lx-9 this year but it’s the same as the 825 + sonar)

I’ve had a 825c and now the 825sd both were color and in my opinion the best money spent. I would like to try the lx9 out with the camera or if the RT-9 would ever come out that would be fun as well. I like the direction arrow on the screen and if u wanted temp that is on there as well. The bigger screen is nice when sitting in the portable and you have it out in front of you. The 825sd has an updated camera than the 825c and has the temp and direction as well. I have not ran any of the other Marcum cameras but would imagine they would be good as well. If you spend your time and look at craigslist, classified ads and do some searching you can find a good deal on a 825sd. I found mine on craigslist new in the box for $500.

It did work for a short time. I will have to find my original clip and post it that way. Wish I was a little more computer savvy….sorry.
