Someone on this site was raving about a type of P-Line not sure which one. Usually do not fish where I would need abrasion resistance. Thanks.

I’m not a fan of P-Line. I unless you are using sub 10lb test it has seemed to have quite a bit of memory. I stick with Seaguar InvizX or AbrazX as it seems to have the least amount of memory. However I don’t use straight fluoro on spinning setups. You’re just asking for trouble IMO. Just go braid to fluoro.

Ok-copolamer P-line has been GREAT on the ice for me, is it good at 6lb in open?

    No complaints with Suffix Elite.

I think at 6 lb you won’t deal with too much memory, at least for fluoro.

Tim, as long as no one has answered your question yet, look at P-Line CX Premium. They have some other options too, like Floroclear. I use mostly CX Premium. Good luck.

Seaguar Inviz-X is the only flouro I will buy with Sunline Sniper a close second.

Gama copolymer. Hard to come by, but I like it. Longville One Stop has it in limited quantities.

Nord what do you like about the CX?

CXX I wouldn’t consider to be a finesse line, seems like it loses its opaqueness over time, and its high abrasion resistance isn’t needed from the op. Great line but gets coily from my experience on spinning.

Finesse is flouro, since I’ve gone to braid on most my rods I’ve experimented with many type of leaders since i almost always run a leader, including mono, flouro, copolymers, haven’t noticed any difference on bites for open water. Any 6-8# I roll with. Usually match the line color if I can to the stain in the water. CXX or triline xt low vis green good for rivers and stained water, clearer lines for clearer water.

Flouro shines for ice imo, splice knots are too much of a PIA for open water

Tim Hurley, It cast well, and I haven’t had any problem with memory. I guess it depends how you spool it on. I just wish they would offer it in a Hi Viz line.

You could also just go old school and go with mono if you don’t mind the stretch. Then you’re not dealing with memory issues like fluoro

I do not mind some stretch-I just want a very manageable line-what about a manageable coplomer? I would also do a mono.
    Thanks Nord.

Why not just go braid with a 8 to 10 ft leader of your choice. That’s what I started doing on every rod I own. Leaders vary from 18 inches to 12 ft. Some have mono some have fluoro

Sounds like the copolymers are the way to go. Thanks
