I might have already asked this a few years ago, but i’m finally in the market to purchase a boat lift canopy and was curious (other than personal preference) if there are any advantages of the different canopy cover colors? I see alot of Dark green ones on the lakes, but starting to see more and more pure black colored ones, does heat absorption have any negative effects? I also imagine that bird droppings ontop is very much unwanted and would be magnified with a darker color cover? I would also image the lighter colored tops would shows stains and any discoloration easier?

    Just looking for owner input…

We have a white and a grey. The white one always looks (and is) dirty. I’d probably go grey. Black would probably be alright. They’re open enough that I can’t imagine heat would build up too much. Heck, you see a fair amount of black boat covers.

I agree about the black color, I’ve kept my black cover on the boat on the lift for the past 5 years spring/summer/fall without any issues other than the cover feels a bit weathered but that’s to be expected…

Gray is the best color to hide mildew that ends up on a lot of boat lift canopy’s.

Just purchased a new lift for our pontoon last spring. We were told grey seems to hold up the best and doesn’t show stains & mildew. We will see?

I have had a Shoremaster white top and a green top. The green one stays much cleaner and for some reason the birds don’t like it as much. Maybe because it stays hotter??
