Iceeager, I use the orange flite. I think that the adapter end is different from the blue flite. It has 3 notches that allow the drill chuck to fully engage w/o slipping and spalling.
I wish I could tell you what it weighs, but that’s irrelevant. What difference is a pound it two if it doesn’t cut freely?

Thanks for getting back on this.. they are different, that’s why I use the Nils drill adaptor for going strictly with a drill on my blue nils and the Kdrill/clam drill adaptor for using on the drill plate… I believe the orange flighting is lighter… Thanks Again!!…

well apparently the pistol bit comes with 2 sets of blades. the set that came on his auger were terrible. you would have to literally to put all your weight on the auger to get it to drill. he was pretty frustrated as it was brand new out of the box.

then next time out he replaced the blades with the other set it came with and they cut much better for some reason. anyone else had this problem? even with the set that works better the strikemaster still seems to cut better. maybe he got a lemon? i told him i would email eskimo and ask them wtf but im not sure if he ever did or not.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered a pistol bit and looked over and decided there were a couple things I didn’t like about it so I am going to return it and buy the Lite Flite.
