Anyone take time to visit this light display in Duluth? Ma and I drove up and spent a couple days in the Duluth area and walked thru the display twice on Weds evening. 50 degrees made it easy to take and the wind wasn’t from he// like it can be. We’ve been there several times over the years and its amazing how it keeps growing….over 4 million lights this year.

Never been there for the Christmas lights but enjoyed the haunted ship for Halloween. It’s a fun town. Might have to make a road trip with ma

    Yep,

Took the family last year, going back this year. I hate crowds, but it’s worth it for the 9 year old. When she’s old and gray, she’ll remember going to Bentleyville.

Went last year on the busiest day and I can definitely say that it is not worth it when it’s that busy. It was a total mess.

Took 45 minutes in line to get in. Then it was elbow to elbow people for 2 hours. My 2yo didn’t see squat. Then getting out of there I got stranded because there were too many on the shuttle bus.

I can honestly say I would’ve rather stayed in my hotel room watching tv.

If it were less busy, I think it would be great. If I go again it’ll be on a weeknight.

Maybe you should have. If the Gophers were playing the Bulldogs in hockey, you might have finally got a chance to see them on tv. wink

We drove up from the cities for the day to see it a few years ago. Went during a cold day later towards Christmas so the crowds were not bad. What I find it amazing is how few people in the Cities even know about it. It was a fun time and worth the trip. How can something like that not be.

Go towards the end of the evening, It really thins out the last 1-2 hours. The first few hours it is an absolute zoo like Gill said.

Going up this next weekend, just in time for the cold weather to thin the flock a bit. Never been, looking forward to it.

A tidbit, the last 2 years I spent 6 weeks working up in Duluth starting in September through November. Everywhere you went they were selling the candy bars for a $1 to help pay for the expenses. Ironic I bought countless candy bars but never made it to the Holiday light show. sad
