Ok fellas, here is your chance to brag up your opener weekend. How did we do and how were the crowds.
I for one did not even get out until sunday for a few hours. I fished the Red Lake River. Boated a few but nothing great. Had to work hard for the fish I did get. This Tuesday I went out and did a morning fish. Did much better. Landed my biggest cat to date from the RLR. 24#. What a hog that was. Not much for Eyes yet. Still searching for where they are hiding in the shallow water.
We did not find any trophy fish on opener but we sure found a lot of aggressive eaters. We did locate several good schools of fish mainly in the 8-12’ of water using shiners on a bead tipped rig set up. Later in the afternoon/evenings we switched to pitching small jigs in a small inlet area. You missed a lot of fun if you were not there.
I was with you in mind… Still pouting about the boat situation… I do have some irons in the fire now though. Should know more by Wednesday.
