Bemidji Area Conditions

  • #2174676

I am wondering if anyone can give an update on the conditions in the Bemidji area. Will be in the area for a family reunion this weekend and hope to get away from the chaos for a little fishing – something quick and probably just chase some panfish.

Is the snow depth manageable to be able to drive a 4-wheel drive on most lakes, should I haul up a wheeler, or should I just plan on walking?

    thanks

There are two main plowed roads – Northwoods landing and Nymore of Bemidji with very little in-between. There is a short road off diamond point but the landing area is a mess so getting off the lake is tough there. A four wheeler should work but things are still hairy in areas since we had a poor year for ice conditions. Dick Beardsley, local guide, nearly went thru with his truck w/shack recently.

We have had a lot of snow so many of the other local lakes would be difficult unless you had a snowmobile.

Also, Lavinia landing (Bemidji) is flagged off. The plowed road there is under water.
