Hey fellas I’m wondering if anybody has run into problems or has any advice on using a fourstroke when temps are below freezing. Just got a sweet storage spot on pool four and I’m thinking I want to fish through the winter within reason of course. Thanks ahead of time to those with any help on this

As long as you protect the lower unit you should be fine. Just trim the motor down and start/run for a few seconds to get the water out of the system.

Yep. What he said. Dont be surprised if the pee hole freezes up on start up to. Just let it idle for a while and the engine will thaw it out. Some 4 strokes need to warm up in cold weather anyways.

Making sure your gearcase is still sealed and free of water is a must to prevent any damage from freezing. When you actually pull it out of the water make sure to leave it down till water stops running out, then trim it up and down a couple more times to make sure all the water is out. When you put it in the water make sure to let it warm up alittle longer than normal before you start running it hard.
