To me the score is meaningless. If a team purposely breaks a rule to try and gain an advantage, that deserves punishment. Play the damn game by the rules.

Exactly…. “I cheated but it didn’t help me or I didn’t need to”…. that just makes you a cheater and stupid.

If you stand by this, you might just want to switch from watching sports and read a book instead.

Cheating is part of each and every sports events.

Deflated footballs :doah: The most assinine excuse for losing 45-7 I have Heard.

They should ban the Colts for a season for bringing it up

Who said that is why they lost ? You might want to “read” before you type… so everybody cheats in all sports, do tell. When did the Colts bring it up ? Again, “read” educate yourself on the subject and try to re-enter the conversation then.

It was the colts who complained, they complained because they “LOST”
They Los because they played like $h!t
Then everyone jumps on the cheating bandwagon because ESPN says so.

Im glad we have something to fill the two week void until the Superbowl. Can you imagine what we’d be talking about if deflategate hadn’t come up.

And how did hockey get into this post? Oh Mplspug….I see…….

The questions were brought up during the game… in the 2nd quarter, they hadn’t “lost” at that point yet. When they intercepted and “noticed” the ball was “different”, they asked why that was… the league took it from there. Each team presents 12 QB balls for inspection before the game. All 12 had the correct amount at the start, but by the end of the game, 11 were “under inflated”.. yes the balls were “quarantined” the second the game was over, by the NFL league, for suspicion of tampering.

Saltwater is ok, but I prefer freshwater.

So the Colts complained before, after; or during the game. Who gives a sheet!!!

“IT HAD NO EFFECT ON THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME” the only outcome it has produced is all the whinning.

Now hockey; yea I brought that up,strictly as a comparison referring only to the “GOONS” on each squad who are there specifically to injure other players. Nothing else.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12213533/dqwell-jackson-indianapolis-colts-says-one-noticed-ball-was-inflated

CNN reported last night the Patriots used the Colts balls toward the end of the FIRST half due to needing dry balls to put into play–refs choice.

The refs held the balls until ten minutes before the game ( not 2 hrs. as has been reported) and they then brought them to the field. 3 balls are taken from the bag and the rest are in the bag near the refs replay booth thing, where there is a security guard at all times–until or if they hare needed— Per the NFL head of Officials.

Who knows what happened. It could be the air pressure gauge the refs used for the Patriots balls was off at half time? Brady could have paid the ball boy/equipment manager ( like Brad Johnson admits to) to let the air out? Or the whole thing never happened? Just some rogue reporting going on via the Colts sideline to make the Patriots look bad?

The NFL report will be interesting–to say the least!

I agree that the outcome had zero relation to the air in the balls. After all–with the correct air in the balls, Brady was 12-14 in the 2nd half–11-22 with the so called deflated balls in the first half….go figure.

If in fact only 11 of 24 balls lost air (all Patriots balls) that negates a bad gauge or weather related for me. I simply hate cheaters, some accept it as long as it doesn’t affect an outcome ? How could someone possibly know this ahead of time…. To me, it would be like culling in a no-cull fishing tournament and finding out at the end of the day, your gained weight wasn’t needed anyways. No harm no foul ? ???

The 24 ball thing is for Brady to choose from BEFORE ( 4-5 hrs. before game time) the refs get to testing them. 12 are chosen by the QB for the refs to test…so if true– 11 of 12 were low on air.

I agree cheating is cheating. Even in a perfect world, with humans involved, that ain’t going away…sadly.

Sadly, when one becomes a winner at high level, you are constantly/predictably accused of cheating ( I know that first hand! lol)

I simply meant of 24 QB balls. Luck had 12 also and none were found underinflated.

I think you were trolling me moon

They are actually doing a good job of weeding out the goons in hockey. You don’t find many teams with heavy weights that play 4-8 minutes a night, you know, just in case.

Hockey is played at an accelerated speed. Things are bound to happen. There actually probably has been an increase since clutching and grabbing has been taken out of the game. Many injuries are unavoidable. Sometimes the injured player actually gets hurt trying to take advantage of the increased sensitivity to dangerous hits, ex turning their back to an oncoming player.

Intent to injure, or as Jeff calls it, cheating wave , is not very common anymore. You’ll notice that with some fines and punishment they don’t mention intent to injure or say “although we feel there was no intent to injure”.

You can ride Matt Cooke as much as you want, but he is a great example of a player who changed his game in order to avoid injuring a player and extending his career, avoiding fines and suspensions.

After learning of an investigation surrounding the use of deflated footballs during Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, Colts players by and large wouldn’t use DeflateGate as an excuse for the team’s 45-7 loss to the Patriots.

After all, the margin of victory suggests the Colts had more issues than underinflated footballs.

Not wanting to sound like sore losers, Colts players have tried to distance themselves from the controversy, but a few expressed their thoughts via Twitter.

sounds like all the sore “LOSERS” are the armchair QB”s

I’d like to know how many people here actually cared about that game. I know I don’t. I do care about teams cheating though. So don’t count me in as a sore loser.

    This is pretty interesting

In light of the ball deflation scandal currently consuming the New England Patriots, football data analyst Warren Sharp looked at the Patriots’ recent fumble statistics and found some startling results.

Looks like the Vikes had the softest balls this year? LOL And look at relative charts here from previous years…Atlanta played with no air in the balls n 2012!

I didn’t care either. I was excited to watch the Packers game though.
I think guys are just stating personal opinions as far as integrity and the like. I find it odd that if someone doesn’t share the same opinion they refer to them as “whiners” or “sore losers”

I kind if feel like the whining may have been directed at the media and fans in general. I could be wrong though. I never took it personal though, because I’m not whining.

I wonder what the ball pressure was/were during the Packers/Cowboys game. Or Seattle/GB? Both games played in similar conditions to the Pats/Colts. Where was espn right after those games.

This whole debacle is nothing but a media smear job.
