For possibly cheating. This news was paired with Martin Luther King on CBS.

Doesn’t he trust his teams ability?

    If you can’t beat’em, cheat’em. That’s Belishmucks motto.

I will say, a few throws by Brady, looked like wounded ducks… even I can throw a tighter spiral than he was.

If they are cheating they are doing pretty well with it. After they take out the Seahawks there will be zero doubt who the best quarterback playing the game day today.

As I said on another forum, had they taken the air out of the ball they would have beat the Colts by 70.

Like Belichick or hate him, you won’t see him get out coached very often.

I think they still would have won that game if they used a bowling ball.. The Colts s%*t in their own nest, it had nothing to do with the ball

For what it’s worth I put this up for the fun comments.
The Colts were out played in every aspect of that game.

To put the blame on the air pressure in the ball is…well

Luck is good but not elite.

The phrase ” it isn’t over until it’s over” didn’t apply to that game. The Colts were beat 5 minutes after the plane left Denver.

Elite might be to strong a description as you say. However if you look at that Colts team top to bottom they would finish last in the NFC North. They have nothing and it’s kind of a testament to Luck that they do as well as they do don’t you think?

Agree, I’ve said yet a few times. It won’t be long and Rodgers and Brady and Manning will be out of the league and Luck will have 5-7 years left and he’ll be the crusty old vet that other qb’s are measured against.

    Him and Bridgewater.

To bad Wilson will become the victim of the salary cap.He could end up like Tom Brady, only having second tier receivers for most of his career.

Not that it would have mattered, but I hate cheaters. Period. Little one’s and big one’s. If you can’t play fair, don’t play. Especially if a coach is involved.

Belichek and the Pats are going to get their “you know whats” handed to them by the Hawks – I think yesterday’s NFC game was for the Super Bowl.

    What joke of a story.

Go Pats although I think the Sea Chickens will win.

Not sure how your elite QB rating system works but Andre Luck is as elite as you can get. Certainly top 5 and I rate him 3rd.

45-7 and people are complaining about the balls being slightly deflated? Please…

The Colts have 2 really good players… V. Davis and A. Luck… after that they are pretty mediocre and beat two very vulnerable teams to get to the AFC Championship. I agree with PB2… Luck is a stud and if they can give him some weapons and a decent defense… look out. Manning/Brady = Wilson/Luck?

    G,

I agree 100%, Belicheat has a history of pushing the envelope. He is a good enough coach that he doesn’t have to do those things, or at least I think he is?

The SeaChickens need to bring a better game than what they did on Sunday or they will need to pack a lunch when Brady takes them apart.

Oh and Rodgers will be around a lot longer than Brady or Manning barring a major injury. He has 7 years to get to where they are now.

Luck ranks around eleventh in just about all categorys.
I know he doesn’t have a lot to work with. but either do about seven of the other QB’s ahead of him.
Elite QB’s score more than seven points in a Championship game. They read D’s and make things happen.

As far as the cheating thing… It’s a bigger deal than I thought. It sounds like Brady more than Bilacheat.
it’s a black eye and another reason that Bilachek should be suspended. He’s accountable and should be held so.

I hope Wilson and the Seahawks light em up.

I’m trying to address these comments, altough I’m not sure why, maybe it’s cause I suck at fishing.
Rodgers doesn’t need seven more years, I think he’s the best in the NFL right now. I know Dutchboy disagrees but McCarthy held him back. The coach decides to go for it on fourth and a foot, the coach decides to play aggressive and throw deep. You can’t deak and dunk on the road in the Championship game. The Pack had a chance to go up by at least 28….

Rodgers will be retired in less than seven years.

I agree Rodgers is good. But when Brady wins his 5th Super Bowl that puts him up 5-1 in Super Bowl wins. I don’t wanna hear that the players surrounding Brady are better then what Rodgers has.

I’m pretty sure the outrage over this ball thing has as much to do with the guy being named Belichick as anything else. If it was just about cheating we would hear much more about the Gophers basketball cheating scandal under Clem.

But, it’s just my opinion anyway. grin

I think the “defated” ball is more Brady than the coach. I think offensively Rodgers has better players. The pats have less weapons offensively.
    How’s that for redundent?
If it was about cheating we would hear much more about the Black Sox… hah

Hard to argue with Brady’s Super Bowl numbers.

Yeah, so I watched the DVR recording of the game and I see it now. Yep, plain as day, all those blown coverages and wide open recivers were definately caused by the balls being deflated. Totally makes it easier to thread the needle between the coverage and the safety too, if you just let 5 PSI off and Christian Ponder could have been QBing that game.

That’s what done it all right. Almost 50 points in a game is easy, you just let a little air out and it’s a sure thing.

To me the score is meaningless. If a team purposely breaks a rule to try and gain an advantage, that deserves punishment. Play the damn game by the rules.

I would say the violent are the minority in the league… somewhat comparable to other Sports and the nation overall. Too many times we paint with too wide of a brush. If the Patriots cheated and the Colts did not… who “deserves” to represent the AFC…? I know what my answer is… grin

I don’t think anyone is saying that’s why the Colts lost.
I use the “What would I tell my kids” rule.

Would I say it’s ok to cheat, everyone else does it.

or, It’s ok to cheat if nobody gets hurt.

    It’s about character and integrity.
Blowing off cheating at any level is, well…

The outcome of the game probably wouldn’t have been different but we’ll never know. It’s easier to thread the needle when it’s easier to grip the ball. They don’t respect the game that has made them multi-millionaires

Leave hockey out of this tho, here you can cheat the rules and deliberately cause harm to another player.

    2 min minor?
    5 min Major?
    Game misconduct?
    Suspensions?

I find under-inflated footballs relatively minor as compared to other sports cheaters.

The outcome of the game probably wouldn’t have been different but we’ll never know.

And if this actually occurred intentionally or unintentionally, we’ll never know the truth. Were the balls inflated to proper pressure inside a warm area? Air temps will affect air pressure.

And why did a sports station report this and not the officials who handled the balls thru the course of the game. I saw the game and one ball was changed but it was said to be a kicking only ball. If under-inflated balls were ion the field those officials would have noticed it in all the handling that took place. Remember it was raining and balls were dried by officials an many, many occasions.

The balls are game balls, not specific to one organization. Both sides played with these supposedly limp balls so both teams would have benefited.

Don’t bring these under-inflated issues to the table after the game is played because there is ample time during the game to address the issue….if it in fact existed.

I don’t condone cheating. I also don’t look at attempts to draw negative controversy to someone or a team like this. Show me proof that the game was played with deflated balls that were ordered deflated. Then show me who did the deflating. Personally I see this as some head hunt started by some dickbird at ESPN that has a hard on for the Patriots. Three full hours of football and not one person mentions a ball feeling soft. Right.

Some reports are that the Raven’s gave the Colts a heads up before the game. The Colts did bring it to the league’s attention during the first half.

We shall see what happens when everything comes out….if it does. We know how the NFL likes to handle these things.

The balls are game balls, not specific to one organization. Both sides played with these supposedly limp balls so both teams would have benefited.

It makes a difference if it is deliberate because 1 QB or players like an under inflated ball or that they know about it and can make adjustments. If someone intentionally under inflated them, do you think they did it for fun, especially in a do or die game or do you think they thought it would give them some sort of advantage.
