    Since it’s Friday…

I am going to have a few Miller Lites out on the deck after work and listen to the new Tyler Childers album. I know that when the mrs walks out she is going to tell me to turn the music off an relax…

    I am relaxing!!

What do you prefer? Some tunes, or quiet?

Same goes for campfires, I love listening to music around a fire. Other people act like its a sin.

    IMHO –
    camp fire = no music
crackle of the fire is music to my ears.

It depends on the music and how nosy the kids were all day. I never minded having something softly playing in the background while around a campfire. But if I am at home by myself I like to shake the roof. peace

I like music and have a music server (at home) that is accessible wherever I have a digital connection, basically anywhere. I’ll run a bluetooth speaker next to the fire pit, driven by the phone which is connected to the server in my basement.

So, in the boat, in the car, at the fire pit, at work, at the cabin, in the ice shack, wherever, I can access my music server.

My winter hobby has turned into server and data maintenance (back ups, cover art, upgrading source files, and tags)

Hadn’t heard of Tyler Childers. Good tunes. If you want something similar but a bit more ‘rocking’ I’d suggest my faves, Drive By Truckers.

As to beer…I only serve light beer to those who don’t like beer. (Sorry, couldn’t resist). Hamms is a fine choice at times – especially for boat beer.

I’m all for music over no music in every situation. The wife has a full time job following me around turning volume knobs down.

Tunes on most definitely. Preferably Classic Rock/Z99 at the cabin, and old school country, or modern versions of it (Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Stapleton, Cody Jinks, Jamey Johnson etc) everywhere else! Beer requirement is that it is cold.

Not to hijack the thread, but semi-related: favorite music when cruising on the boat? For me it’s by far CCR or Tom Petty.

Campfires should be musicless to start, then as it progresses maybe someone pops out a harmonica or guitar, then if it really pops off later get the “family tradition” going and start making moves that resemble dancing.

Add Jason Isbell’s solo stuff too that list since he was kicked out of DBT.

Which begs the question, how F’d up must one be to get kicked out of a southern rock band. doah

No music around the fire. The fire is for winding down and losing myself in thoughts of nothing. With other people around it’s to talk, with long periods of silence as the fire crackles and burns.

Could be either, depends on the mood and the company. Winner with a fire either way!

Tough to beat Chris Stapleton these days!

Don’t feel bad. I can’t drink Bud, Miller, Coors or Pabst. Grainbelt & Hamms are a acquired taste. I’ve found the bigger the advertising budget the less I like the taste.

As for the fire and music it all depends on who I am with and the mood I guess. About 95% of the time there is music of all sorts but if I am with my rents camping prolly just the sound of the fire. One thing both situations have in common is there always an adult beverage involved.
