Always been a Budwieser in a bottle kinda guy. I got a homebrewing kit for christmas this year, and the stuff i made with that was pretty good as well. As long as its cold that’s all that matters

Hey Pug – if you are ever over in the St. Pete/St. John’s Pass area, try http://madbeachbrewing.com/

We stopped in when we were down there and I was pretty impressed. Really cool spot.

Guinness would be my #1, though left handers milk stout isn’t too far behind. If I can see through the glass it’s not dark enough.

For me, it depends on what I’m doing at the time. If I’m fishing, its Busch Light or Mich Golden Light because it never fails, I’ll know one over. If Im relaxing at home and grilling, its a good IPA. I like to try a lot of different IPA’s and I go thru phases on which ones I get more often. Sometimes its Alaskan Icy Bay IPA, sometimes Fantasy Factory (mostly because of the label), but lately its been the Sam Adams Nitro IPA.

Update – if I’m cleaning fish, its one of my leftover Labatt Blue or Mooseheads from Canada (I bring enough home to hopefully make it until the next trip in order to have 1 overtime I am cleaning fish at home)

I really like Dos Equis Amber but it is hard to find around here.

Spent a week in Mexico recently. That stuff is awesome down there. Good beer. Locally I love Widowmaker from da U.P. eh

Pug, I was with you till you mentioned Corona. Blech.

I know I know! But I like it with the lime. I think it’s because I used to bum them off my nephew when we’d go fishing.

I’ll have to remember that. You should have checked out Cigar City. We went there last year.

Funny thing is there is no Mich Golden down here.

If they don’t have Coors light it’s Jack for me. I can’t stand dark beers.

If I ever start talking about fruit, nut, or whatever else pansy crap tones that’s in my beer somebody reach through their PC and punch me in the face. Much appreciated, thanks. toast

On the contrary. If anyone starts talking about Bud Select 55… That deserves a punch in the face thru the PC.

Trying to ignore the replies about the domestics. I’m obviously one of few who knew what you were looking for.

Today I’m drinking Surly Abrasive. Tomorrow, who knows. I’m like you, I typically find myself drinking the local craft beers. I really get sick of a craft beer quickly so I’m not buying more than 6 bottles or a growler.

One of my recent favorites is Lake Erie Monster from Great Lakes. This is one I find myself buying more than one 6 packs.

After hockey its campaign (high life) or coors, to rehydrate of course.

Busch Light. Hands down…if I’m gonna class it up a bit, Mich Golden light. Dark beers are gross, stop trying to be cool. Amen.

Unfortunately, the trend of over-hopped, over-malted, and over-flavored microbrew tosh with too-clever-by-half names has me just saying no to newbie beers.

My favorites. Notice that they are neither new, nor brewed here.

    – Newcastle Brown Ale
    – Newcastle Exhibition
    – Beamish Stout
    – Flowers Bitter
    – John Smith’s Bitter
    – Boddington’s
    – Pilsner Urquell
    – Budejovicky Budvar
    – McEwan’s Export

It’s all good. If domestics are what they like, who am I to judge the Cake eaters. D

Great Lakes is a great brewery. Love their porter and their IPA.

Grouse and anyone who likes darker stouts/porters/bocks, give Samual Smith’s organic chocolate stout a try. Don’t let the organic or chocolate in the name scare you off. It smells chocolaty, but the taste is not like a novelty beer. It’s a nice hint of cocoa, but still tastes like a stout, as opposed to say tasting like a beer with chocolate syrup. Just like when IPA guys say citrus notes/hints, that is what the chocolate in this chocolate stout is like.

I may have a problem, since I am writing this at 6:15 am on a Tuesday. Is it thirsty Thursday yet?

There is only one true beer for us men and that’s Hamm’s.

Everything else is just a fad.

Hamms is my go to if im feeling cheap and its not all that bad. If I have a choice im drinking summit IPA or Surly. If im in a bar I usually order a summit

My SIL and BIL love it. I’ve tried it. Initially, I liked it, but I get sick of it after about half a beer. I bought a sixer last summer, struggled through the first bottle, made my wife finish the second bottle, and left the remainder at the cabin.

My “go to” local is growlers of Steel Toe Size 7 IPA.

Over the winter I transition to heavier maltier brews, stouts and such. During the summer I like to lighten up to IPAs or hoppy pilsners.
Victory Pilsner and Deschutes Fresh Squeezed are a couple of my favorite summer beers. Steel Toe’s Red is good too if I feel like going heavier in the summer.

Lately I’ve been on a Ballast Point kick trying their different Sculpins. I’ve been told to try mixing the Habanero Sculpin with the Pineapple. The Habanero is pretty spicy on it’s own so I’ll give the combo a try later this week.

Summit EPA is my standard beer and I’ll drink a Surly Furious if that’s all somewhere has. I’m not a fan, at all, of the hop arms race that a lot of breweries are in. I’ll try any oatmeal stout I find and really like those but the best are usually draught only it seems.

Too sweet? Too chocolaty? I have to admit its been a while since I had one and with the temps being warmer, I am not sure I’ll be trying one again until next winter. I just know when I had it I was pleasantly surprised. Who knows. Maybe I am getting ahead of myself.
