I am a big fan of Schell’s Firebrick. Their Octoberfest, Fort Road Helles and Bock are also excellent.
Unfortunately, they can be difficult to find. My other go to is Leinies Original.

I only drink craft beers to remind myself how good busch light is.
You Bud, Miller and Busch guys need to expand your horizons and give your taste buds a treat, try a Craft beer. Way more flavor and taste then urine in a can.

I have tried the micro brews and whatever other fancy names are out there – they taste like urine in a can (if I could guess what urine tastes like, it can’t be much worse than that). Why spend lots of money for urine in a can when I can spend little money for a taste of heaven in a can?
Usually Bud or Coors Light.
Once in a while a Snow Pilot from Point Brewery.
Someone needs to tell the craft brew guys that bitter isn’t a good flavor.

x2 but I like some craft beers. The craft scene has really jumped the shark imo, I don’t really care how many flavors you can cram into a beer. Nor if it has a locally grown CSA organic hoppy nose with a Swiss chocolate straight from the alps note and a peaty finish from the Scottish Islay region that is carbon neutral and ethically sourced, more importantly does it taste good? And finally does it taste good enough to have more than 2? Most craft beers fail this test for me, so I usually will have 1 or 2 with dinner and that’s about it. And my case of Keystone’s cost about as much as a sixer of craft beers with a local artist rendering inspired by Banksy can.

It’s all rental anyway.
I don’t have a man bun, so chances are, I would be thrown out of a lot of the micro breweries some frequent.
Founders gets my money these days. Awesome craft beer and a great price. Absolutely love All Day IPA and Mosaic Promise. ($15-17 for a 15 pack). And their Solid Gold Lager is great when I need a break from the hops. ($17 for a 24 pack).
If I’m drinking while fishing (which I don’t typically do) it’s Coors Light.
If I’m actually drinking something I want to taste, there are a few options.
Cygnus X-1 Porter by St Paul Brewing (formerly Flat Earth Brewing)
Fulton Standard Lager (a lager with actual flavor)
Big Wood Morning Wood (breakfast stout)
Good ‘ole Boston Lager
For all you craft beer haters, they do make american ales and pilsner beers that are light and easy to drink more then 2. Not all craft beer has fancy flavors and cost a lot. You just need to try different ones till you find that one you really like. I still try beers I dislike and I try a lot of beer traveling for work.

For example, Fulton’s Standard Lager I mentioned above!
Never drank, never wanted to.

So why are you in a beer thread?
I’m a Jack/Coke guy. If I drink beer its Coors Light. When I go to breweries with my buddies I ask for the beer closest to Coors Light. I always get an eye roll.

I am kind of beered out. I might switch to screwdrivers, whiskey ginger and other cocktails for a while.
I only get a 6-pack once or twice a year because it’s jacked up to $16, but Bell’s Hopslam is the finest IPA I’ve tried. It’s absolutely world class. Surly’s Todd the Axe Man is in the same ballpark.
Surly Furious IPA is my stand-by beer. Bell’s Two Hearted is very good. Stone makes a bunch of solid IPAs.
Dark Ale: Lagunitas Sucks! Actual name of the beer. It doesn’t suck.
Castle Danger Cream Ale is another good choice I see mentioned numerous times here. It’s somewhere in my top 20. I’m still pissed they can’t sell growlers of that anymore.
There are numerous sours on the market that people should try. They come and go. Lagunitas Aunt Sally is a good one.
I’m not big on lagers, to be honest. If I drink those, I’m mix Clamato with it with a slice of lime and a few olives. Grain Belt and Minnesota Gold are my choices here.
As far as hating on domestic lagers, it’s kind of silly. Just accept them for what they are: fizzy alcohol water. It that respect, they have a place and time. Busch Light out of a cooler of ice on a summer evening grilling and visiting with family. That’s no time to get trashed on IPA.
BTW, I haven’t had any beer in a half-year because I need to lose some weight. You guys might be surprised how fast it falls off when the beer goes away, even more so when all alcohol use is stopped.

For me it’s pretty easy:
Busch Light,
Busch Lattes,
Blue Smoothies.
Then.. After dark, in no particular order on any given day:
Captain Morgan,
Leroux Blackberry Brandy (yellow label),
Pendleton Whiskey.
I’m kind of hopped out on the extra bitter IPAs that seemed to dominate the craft beer scene initially, but I think most breweries have done a great job adjusting.
It used to be you’d walk into a tap room and I swear all they would have would be 4 different types of IPAs.
I’m becoming more seasonal in my beer preferences though, really enjoy stouts and porters in the winter, love a good oktoberfest in the fall, and really like a good wheat beer in the summer.
Beaver Island’s Chocolate Oatmeal Stout is my go to right now.
Garphish has an amazing oktoberfest
I’ve also really been enjoying a good milkshake IPA when I can find them. Dangerous Man has a couple great ones on tap in their tap room right now.
If I’m ice fishing all day, it’s Keystone light.
I am kind of beered out. I might switch to screwdrivers, whiskey ginger and other cocktails for a while.
Are you talking about this morning…already?
Surly Furious IPA is my stand-by beer.
That’s a good one. Fulton Sweet-Child-of-Vine is my “go to” now.
Where’s the love for Naturdays?
Naturdays is surprisingly good! IMO it’s a bit too sweet for more than a couple but I’ll be having some in the cooler this summer.
The perfect beer for me would be one that tastes like Surly Furious, is 99 calories, and prevents me from getting up all night to pee…
…guess I’ll have to stick to my Scotch, but I sure miss beer!!
Where’s the love for Naturdays?
They are good when out on the boat in the summer.
