Glen57 LOL! Yes the 3 cases of returnable bottles Pfeiffer for $9.99! Had to be ICE COLD to choke ‘er down!

We should start a new thread: What beer did you drink when you couldn’t afford beer? Mine were Pfeiffer, Hauenstein & Buckhorn back in the day…

Enough of Two harbors, anyone familiar with the better of the breweries along the north shore, in Voyageur? I’ve only had Devils Kettle once but it was excellent. Didnt consider myself an IPA guy either. Looking forward to trying their fruity Trailbreaker this summer too.

Spotted cow is a staple in my diet. Like me some mich goldens and bud lights too. If I’m digging into the seltzer game I prefer Press over the claws.

Go-to is a Busch lite 30 pack for $17.99 – easy on the stomach and goes down easy.

Favorite beer (if I had a bulletproof gut) Boulevard non filtered wheat (kc)….2nd would be Nordeast!

    1) Guinness
    2) More guinness

Keep some Busch lite around for boiling brats and such.

Then I usually try various stouts, last one I had was cashmire hammer from 3 sheep’s, good for one or two but not more than that.

I had my first Castle Danger Ale when it was being made in a garage in Castle Danger. I like the cans but the tap beer is better.

I like all sorts of craft beers. My problem is I don’t pick 1,2 or even 6 favorites. I cant tell you what beer is better than another. So I randomly select beers for the weekend and sometimes I’m like why the hell did I buy this.

I never met a beer I didn’t like. That being said New Castle Nut Brown is pretty spectacular

I will drink just about any type of beer that exists. I’m not sure I’ve had a beer in the last decade that I truly disliked. (Seltzers are not beer and are disgusting)

For quantity and an all day drinkathon I stick to Miller Lite, Coors Light, or Busch light. After about 6 it isn’t going to matter.

I probably more often have a couple craft brews in a setting. I like anything from Surly, Leinenkugels, Castle Danger, New Glarus, the occasional blue moon or Kona in summer, Alaskan Ambers once in a while as the Mrs. favorite, or anything I can get my hands on to at least try.

Yuengling is the best American lager. It doesn’t taste watered down and the flavor is great.

I’ve seen Schells mentioned here several times. I can tell you this mark your calendars for their Oktoberfest celebration that’s held at the brewery usually the second weekend in October. The Oktoberfest they serve there I understand is brewed for that event it’s not a distributed beer. I believe it’s the same recipe that you buy in the liquor stores but it is beyond fresh. Awesome stuff and a great time! New Ulm is only a couple hours away from you guys in the Cities.

I started off with Hauenstein. My wife claims we could get groceries for a week, fill up the car and get a case of beer, all for a $20 bill, but she does tend to exaggerate. Nowadays I like IPA’s from craft breweries. Wintering in South Texas, I’m drinking a lot of Hopadillo now, brewed in Houston.

Leinenkugel’s in fridge is the Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. I used to be a Leinenkugel Bock Fan (bought it by the 1/4 barrel for tap in the kitchen)
They stopped making it after many years so now drink Creamy Dark, or the Snowdrift Vanilla Porter for dark or for light go with Honey Weiss or Original. I do purchase the St Pauli Girl once in a while.

Leinies big butt was great. Now retired. I see last year a big butt dopplebock was available. Anyone know if that was the same recipe?

Not sure of recipe but it was good. I believe not available right now. Try the Snowdrift in a frosty mug very good.

Millers high life in a bottle warm or cold. Canadian blue is a close second or maybe it might be the scenery that I drink it in Woman Lake Canada.

I have migrated to imperial Stout.
They are a bit heavy however I like the strength of them, I usually don’t mess around with anything under 10% ABV

Never been a quantity drinker so I don’t buy mass produced domestics. Commonly buy craft, micro, regional or imports. I also usually buy something different each time out. Some I like, some not so much. So far it hasn’t stopped me from trying something new. Ales, lagers, porters, darks, IPAs, sours, ciders, stouts… I’ll drink any of them. I’m too curious to stick with a favorite for long but will likely buy again sometime down the road.

Busch Light. That would be it.

Shiner Bock if I’m feeling “classy” about once a year.
