Just curious for those here who drink beer, what your current beer of choice is. When I was younger it was more about quantity and not quality. I drank my fair share of Busch light and in my college days our beer of choice was Point Beer ( I’m Not sure they even make it anymore ) These days my taste tend to be for more Lager’s and Ale’s. The majority of what I drink these days is Stella Artois, Corona, and Labatts. Doing a little research I was kind of surprised of what the top selling beers were in the US in 2019. Bud light was 1, Coors light #2 and Miller lite #3. These 3 made up almost 30% of the market share. As far as domestic beer goes, our neighbors to the south ( Mexico ) lead the way with Corona at #6, Modelo at #7 and Dos Equis at #20. lets here it – What are all you drinking these days???

having lived in Kalamazoo, Two-Hearted is my go-to beer. Their Oberon is a great summer beer and if you can find it, get some HopSlam. ) Be careful with the HopSlam though… it packs quite a punch. Otherwise, I look for something new each time I stop at the beer store – mostly favoring local IPAs…

Maybe I should have asked this question. What beer do you drink when your buying? and what beer would you have if someone else was buying? For some I’m sure the answer would be different

I’m kind of a beer nerd – but not a snob! Whether it be local breweries, regional oddities, historic lagers, unique yeasts, sours, etc. I love them all. Being a homebrewer also fosters the interest. I could talk beer, mead, and whiskey all day. That being said, there’s nothing wrong with a perfectly good Hamm’s

It’s tasty, a very easy gateway for lite beer drinkers but excellent for beer nerds as well.

I’d likely classify as a beer nerd, too – imperial stouts, wild sours, IPA’s, pilsners and everything in between – but I like anything cold and wet, very few beers I’ll turn away.

Went to Total Wine at lunch and got a case of Coors Banquet, a 12 of Sierra Nevada 40th Anniversary, a 6 of Finnegan’s Dead Irish Poet, and for good measure, a champagne bottle of High Life. Variety is the spice of life. cool

Same here (though I am not a fan of sours). Different seasons and different occasions all call for something different. I like to keep it interesting.

In my beer fridge at the moment (stocked up on Sunday…good superbowl beer sales)
half empty 30 rack of busch light. Pretty much required to always have lattes on hand here in SD.
    Mich Golden Light
    Shiner Boch
    Summit Dakota Soul Lager
    Summit Cabin Crusher
    Remedy Brewing Dakota Classic lager
Remedy Brewing Queen Bee honey cream ale.

3 or 4 cans of every fruit flavored seltzer that has hit the market. My wife thinks she likes these but always moves onto the next new one that comes out and never finishes what she buys.

70% of the beer I consume is cheap – busch, miller. 30% is craft.

LOL, sounds like my SIL. My BIL always complains that he has no room in his beer fridge due to her habit of buying every seltzer and then drinking only half of the pack.

Not a big beer drinker here, but when I do its either a Castle Danger Cream Ale (just enjoyed a couple taps with the FW at Larsmont Cottages last weekend) or Canal Park Brewery Nut Hatchet Brown ale.

I drank my fair share of Busch light and in my college days our beer of choice was Point Beer ( I’m Not sure they even make it anymore )

Funny you mention Point beer (and yes they still make it).
I attended UW Stevens Point and we used to go to the brewery and buy “pony” kegs all the time. If memory serves, they were equal to about 2.5 cases of beer, and they only charged us like $10 for them. The best was spring semester when they would make the Point Bock beer…..good stuff to us LOL toast

Also, Todd the Axeman and Sierra Nevada hazy little thing ipa. Axe kicker by big axe brewing in Nisswa is another good one.

Schells had some good ones this year. Snowstorm red ale and their ipa (can’t remember the name) were great seasonal beers.

In collage I drank Milwaukee’s best ice (the beast) 30 pack for $10 and no one would ever take your beer. Even when you offered them a beer, “sure I’ll take a beer” and then I would pull it out and hand it to them, “I am ok, no thank you.” They would give it back every time. rotflol Now I like porters and stouts. They are even better aged in whiskey barrels. Busch light for cheap beer.

In my quantity over quality days it was Pfeiffer’s. 3 cases for 9.99.
Then it was Miller high Life, then Strohs now it’s Michelob golden draft lite. Even Pabst for a while.

Never got into the micro brewery stuff. Had a sip of the seller but haven’t bought any.

Hometown is New Ulm. Breast fed on Schells and still love it but drink mainly Grain Belt these days because Schells is hard to source up here.

I really liked Strohs when it was brewed here in St Paul. Then they moved the operation Detroit. Not drinking DeToilet water….

x2 on Cold if someone else is buying.

If I’m buying for taste it’s usually a Schell’s product, Grain Belt Premium is always good, and Oktoberfest is my #1 by far (also really like Sam Adam’s Oktoberfest). If I’m going for quantity/value it’s tough to beat Keith Stone Lights at 11.49-12.99 a case at Total Wine.

    I like IPA’s and porters

my go to is All Day IPA by Founders. Also enjoy Summit Pale Ale and Surly Furious. Castle Danger makes some tasty stuff too. Im more of a guy who finds a few they like and sticks with it type. With so many different breweries emerging in the last 5-10 years its hard to keep up with all of them. I do like to try a few new ones once in a while though. Tried a beer tasting event one time and it was fun but found out real quick they didn’t have enough bathrooms to supply the need.

If i mean to pound a bunch of them ill opt for PBR or some keystones.

Really the only beer i cant stand is Miller. Has always given me a headache if i drink even a few of them.

    Dam, what timing! Thanks fishthumper.

Time for an ice cold champagne of beer, Miller high life. High volume preference.

Spotted cow or leinie’s honeywiess on tap for specialty aka foofoo brews.

But in all reality, almost any beer on ice or from a very cold taproom.

    Cheers!
