I just pulled one of my trail camera’s by mantorville and had quite a surprise when looking throught the pics. I heard there was a bear around but never thought I’d get a picture of him. I just can’t believe the camera even works because this camera was under water during the flood. I went down to check the cam thinking it was fried and it was still on and taking pictures. Pretty Lucky I guess

My father-in-laws neighbor just got live pics off his deck of a bear in Mazeppa also. Wonder whats going on with these bears. Had one in Zumbrota a couple years ago.

Is that bear full of Mange or what is wrong with its coat?

There must have been alot of bears being born up that way the last few years, maybe more then people might think back in the nooks and crannies. They spotted one 30 miles north of Cedar Rapids here a few months ago. It was first spotted closer too the Minnesota border then was sighted On various farms going south to just north of town here. I haven’t heard anything about it in the last couple months, I think its pretty cool, a few bears would be nice but not an established population. I know the farmers wouldn’t put up with it.

It’s amazing how bears are expanding their territory. Cool pictures Justin – thanks for sharing!

About a month ago some people in Mantorville were claiming a sighting on Facebook, but nobody had any picture.

BTW, we run coyote hounds all over Dodge County and a lot of times near Mantorville. Any chance you’d tell me where that was at so we can keep our eyes open when we are running dogs?

A buddy of mine was telling. Me about one he had pics of just north of Cannon falls, I didn’t think much of it till last week, I got a hysterical call about 9:00 pm from my wife saying she was sitting along the road with a bear in the headlights!

A rumor has it that the dnr are the ones responsible for these strange sightings atleast the ones north east of cannon falls! It sounds like they released a few of them 2 see how they would adapt! What’s every1 elses opinion good or bad
