    Hey Guys

I didn’t get drawn for a Minnesota bear tag, so I booked a fall hunt to Manitoba. This will be my first bear hunt and I am looking at broadhead choices. I am thinking of just sticking with my 3 blade Rages that I use on everything else, but just wanted to hear opinions from successful bear hunters. Thanks

I’m sure you will get yes and no answers on the Rage as most love them or hate them. Use what you are confident in

I have never shot a bear with a Rage, but I know quite a few serious Bear hunters that do use them and their own results would give me all the confidence I need to use a Rage head on a bear. Might check with your outfitter to see if they have any restrictions on them!

Thanks for the replies guys. This will be my first guided and first bear hunt. I just got into hunting and archery 2 years ago. I have got 3 deer and a nice Merriam’s turkey in Nebraska so far. I am hooked and really looking forward to the bear hunt.

No problem, Chad. Like Gutone4 me said, if you are comfy with the Rages I would continue to use them!

I’ve shot bear with fixed and mechanical. Shoot what your comfortable with, just make sure it’s sharp. It’s all about shot placement.

I took a bear last fall with the Rage 3-blade…easiest blood trail I’ve ever had on a bear. I won’t be making any changes for future bear hunts (or deer).

Go confidently with the Rage! These photos were from a ~250lb bear I shot this spring. Total pass through, bear piled up within ~30 yards. (Unfortunately, the bear was rubbed really badly, although the camera made it look a little worse than it was…)

Another guy at camp was using a fixed blade (Rocket Aeroheads, I think??) broadheads… Shot a bear the last evening and unfortunately we never recovered the animal.

    I’d stick with the Rage!

As a guide I have seen a ton of bear that have been arrowed and the Rage is a great blade for bear.
