I happen to luck out the second day into the season. This one came in and I arrowed it at 23 yards. It ran about 40 yards and dropped. I am very proud!

My first bear I think its around 200lbs.

It came in about a half hour before dark with another bear about the same size. I was pumped I heard this tree fall in the woods and I thought that didn’t sound right so I grabbed my bow and about five minutes later this guy walked in. It got spooked by another bear and jumped about four feet up in a tree. I thought to myself woow… that is some power. Then things calmed down and I lucked out with a quartering away shoot that landed good. Through the liver and one lung.

I am so happy. Got my first with my bow.

I do have pictures on me my bow and the bear in the woods put I can’t get them up. I tried

Just a side note bear meat is good. really good

I have really been lucky. The neighbor has been calling me lucky. “So lucky what are you gonna shoot next!”

Both the deer and the bear came off of my property. So that is very special to me. I am excited for the years to come.

    Thanks RR

Yes, I have spent a few hours in the woods setting up trail cams and so forth. The time has paid off. This has been my greatest hunting season yet. I am thrilled to get out every time.

I have started with a 1.5lbs. squirrel but it wasn’t eating my garden vegetables. Hey you gotta start somewhere right! I hope you have a great season this year. Start with a squirrel end with a (?).

good luck to everyone for that matter

Congrats Benny on your first black bear! It always makes it a little more special when you are able to take game on your own hunting land that you invested in both time and money (food plots).

P.S. Did you ask your grandpa in heaven for anything else?

I am just gonna make a rug out of it. I think I will wait for a bigger one to have like a half mount done.

This has really nice fur. Its a nice looking bear.
