I heard a mother bear and 3 cubs were recently spotted at Elm Creek Park in Maple Grove.

There has been a bear hanging around west of Northfield for the last few years.
The only difference is farmers see it and don’t really make a big deal out of it.

With the states great parks and trails systems on the verge of being saturated with a bunch of legal weed stoner hikers id imagine they are gearing up for a strong granola bar season.

The Northfield one is cool because it’s not far from me, but looks to be a young wandering bear. We seem to get a report or two per year in southern MN of the same type of thing. But the one in Maple Grove with cubs is a bigger deal as that would signify perhaps a breeding population spreading further south.

It was killed on the interstate in the Exit 67-69 area Sunday.

Which bear? MG or Northfield? Don’t know exit numbers off the top of my head. Didn’t see anything about a roadkill.

That would be the mile markers for Northfield, but I don’t see any references to it in a search.
