Be kind to stray animals

Two years ago on the Minnesota fishing opener there was a stray cat at the resort we were at, which the owner said had showed up a couple days prior to the opener.
Well, the little guy was trying to make a living and jumped on a picnic table that had some type meat waiting to go on a grill. Someone picked up a stick and was going to go after the cat. Thats when I stepped in and put a halt to it, I went over and put the cat on the ground.
After a couple days of seeing him wander around, I could tell he just wanted someone too give him a home and take care of him.
After getting home the family and I decided to give him a home, however the resort owner had taken him to the local Humane Society where he spent 3 weeks. They took good care and gave him his shots and neutered him.
Now I know some people don’t care for cats but he’s been a great family pet and likes to show is affection. Not sure
if he is a mouser or not as I don’t have any in the house.
So be kind to stray animals.
Good Luck to all that are waiting for the Minnesota fishing opener. For everyone who has been fishing for a while, have a good year.
    Ron.

    Love it Ron!

I have two cats from the local shelter. One is a three legged cat that was found on the highway. After his surgery and shots we adopted him and he is great and gets along great with our other 10 year old shelter cat and our pooch!

He picked the best seat in the house, right by that cozy fire.

Nice job Ron! If it has fur, I like them. Heck even things without fur.

Nothing wrong with a little extra kindness in this world. Congrats on finding a new house buddy.

It’s good to know that I’m not alone when it comes to liking our furry friends.

The wife wants a cat pretty dang bad, I could give or take one, doesn’t bother me. My 1 and a half year old German Shorthair however, LOVES cats. In fact, he loves them so much he likes to pick them up and carry them around. He is what makes us nervous about adding one to our family.

Great story, I am also animal lover/pet owner. ive grew up with pets my whole life.
my dog/baby now is a rescue and is one of the best pets ive ever owned.
she’s a pitbull and i hate the fact that they get such a bad rap. my family and i have multiple pitbulls. people are always shocked at how great they are when they meet them.

Wonderful story! I often miss having cats, but I don’t miss the cat litter and I don’t think my GSPs would enjoy having to share the house with cats anyway. I think cats are special. To win over a dog’s affection is pretty easy. But getting a cat to like you…now that’s a challenge! Pictured are Kiki and Patches, who both are passed away now but not forgotten. )

Ron, I did something similar. Kitten at a campground between Prairie and LaCrosse I used to keep a camper at. Anyways took in this kitten. The whole family got ringworm. Lmao. Funny now. Ex-wife wasn’t too pleased.
