Anyone got any tips/areas for the river up that way? I normally fish Kinni down to Prescott, but feeling the urge for some new scenery and I’ve never tried that area.
Thanks!

There are a lot of points in that area if you like live bait rigging. You can also put together some nice trolling runs if pulling cranks is more your thing. Hopefully the wakes aren’t too bad this weekend, good luck!

Thanks! I’m working all weekend, but gonna try to get out Tuesday, so the wakes should be less of an issue I hope.
I trolled Tuesday evening north of the High lines WI side and picked up a couple.
Certainly not a secret spot, but the channel between the bridges in Hudson is snag free, easy to troll with consistent depths, and has fished well for me so far this year.
Anderson Pt in Bayport usually fishes pretty well too. Although I certainly can’t say snag free.
When in doubt troll the shoreline and you will find fish.
You can troll either shore line from Stillwater to Prescott and catch fish most of the way. There are a few dead zones that have never produced but for the most part fish are everywhere up and down the Croix
Don’t fish the train bridge area. It’s a secret spot.
And the night bite is just plain , NO good !
just have to keep pickin that scab, eh?
Sometimes it’s hard for people to let go of the past.

I cant believe you just gave that spot up again! What the F is wrong with you!!!!!!!!!!
Going the other direction, the “sunken islands” near the YMCA camp will hold some fish along with the flats and edges of the flats in the Afton area.
And I think Mike said it best. Work the shoreline if nothing else.

OMG I remember the pure hate some fellers felt when you first mentioned YMCA. And that was hearing them from another boat!!
Hard bottom points and inside turns, mussels are a bonus. Just a bit of current is a bonus. #4 orange hook with a leech or a tru turn and pinch of crawler. Sunny day 16-24′, cloudy and active 12-16′.
Thanks for all the responses! I remember the first time around with the uproar about the train bridge being a secret lol….
Just an update from further down stream. I didnt want to start a new post. Launched in Prescott and fished P3 last night. I was surprised when pulling into town and seeing the water so high. In the trees high. While I thought that was going to help us in our pursuit of smallies it did not. The shore fish were off last night. I think we caught 3. I had a real nice one up to the boat but refused the net and lost it trying to thumb it. Probably 17 or 18 which is a pretty good fish down there. Buddy lost a nice one that got hung up on flooded grass! Cant wait for the water to drop and the summer pig sheep bite to pick up!
I love jiggin and piggin those fat bastages along with junk smallies!
