Thinking about doing a trip to Bay De Noc instead of my annual trip to Red Lake this ice season. Need help finding a resort or access with plowed roads like Red Lake to pull my 14v ice house out. Not much info on the net about the Bay de noc…

Check with Bayshore Resort & Bait store in Gladstone or Bayshore Bait and Tackle in Escanaba.

you won’t find any plowed roads here.some years by mid january it can be really tough with a vehicle.snowmobile best option, especially if you are travelling from a distance.no fishing clubs.no help from local commerce.you are on your own here.hope this helps.plus their dictator governor has most business locked down to 25%

Ditto that. I called around last year and a bait store told me “Why would you come here if you live in Minnesota?” No real info I could find. Doesn’t sound like there is a resort heavy pressure there; which could be good.

fishery took a dive for several years, but seems to be recovering as we have had some better success last 3 years.if local business would start a fishing club as we have on winnebago in wisconsin,it would help to let fisherman safely fish here.downside is more fishermen then.there are plenty of motel rooms in the area, but limited info from bait shops.most years vehicle travel gets tough by january as i stated.pressure ridges the last few years have also limited travel from the west side of bay.hope this helps

We used to put a sleeper shack in the head of the bay. If you plan on fishing south you would have to have a portable shack and a snowmobile or atv. As other had mentioned there was no plowed roads at that time and we pulled are shack out with a utv with chains. Yes the ice conditions can be a little tricky but they do drive trucks out there. If my memory is right there is a road on the west side that is used only during the winter for access. The fishery had an illegal netting done in 2009 which removed alot of the big females but it is coming back.

For me this has always been a better night bite then day bite due to the clear water.
