I just got done hooking up my LX6 to the shuttle and I’m going to use the old LX6 carrying case for my battery box/case. It also gives me enough room to keep a portable battery station w/jumper cables and a Recon 5 in it.

Built my own. Not to difficult.
    Used a plano ammo box.
Use it for hunting and soft water fishing.

X2. This is what I did. Bought a plastic ammo box, 2 batteries, and a dual usb, digital voltage meter, an led light on the front, and a couple posts for gator clips for my Otter’s lights. Works out great! Can do it all yourself for around $100.

For $115 bold north outdoors sells the box and battery and charger with free shipping. If anyone didn’t feel like making one themselves. They have a battery meter to tell you the percentage of your battery compared to a volt meter of telling you the volts it’s at. They sell in a bigger box too.

95% of the time I simply use a lithium jump starter. Much lighter and more compact than a bulky power box.

I had stuff laying around to build my own so I did but use it sparingly on the ice. It gets used for other stuff. It has the standard USB ports, a 12v outlet, lights, voltage meters, etc. Where it differs is that I got my hands on a marine radio with built in speakers. Slapped that in the thing, mounted a small antenna, and a 1″ RAM ball for my camera. If I added up the cost of all the components I have in the thing it would cost around $60 to build. If you have a very, very basic understanding of 12v wiring it makes no sense to overpay for one of these things. Just build your own.
