Battery issue

Went out and my starting battery crapped out, fortunately I was not far from the launch and my trolling motor batteries were fine. I might have left my navigation light on for a few days-so when I got home I put the 3 batteries on the bank charger, light showed that all 3 were charged, not trusting the battery that went dead I tried my tilt and trim, found the t&t to be weak, so I put that one battery on a separate trickle charger, that charger showed that it was not full, almost gave up but after 24 hours it showed full. Went on a quick trip yesterday (absolute zoo on Turtle lake BTW) started it maybe 4xs was fine, so is everything ok?
My weak power for the starting battery effected the Hbird, is it ok to have the depthfinder on the cranking battery? Thanks

Yes you should have all of your electronics on the starting battery. Depending on how long your battery was dead will determine the effects that it had on the battery. Usually a day is not a big deal unless the battery is old. Sulfation occurs when a battery is deprived of a full charge, it builds up and remains on battery plates. When too much sulfation occurs, it can impede the chemical to electrical conversion and greatly impact battery performance.

Battery is not old, and I doubt that it was not low for more than a day-One more reason to fish frequently kids! Thanks Super, I think I am ok, I fish one lake where the best area is about 1.5 mi. from the launch, might put that one off for a while.

I run 2 graphs off my starting battery. I also carry a spare smaller battery as well just for safe practice. But I’ve never had a issues with my graphs running on my starting batter

Harbor Freight had some extra long jumper cables that come in a nice compact case. I figure those are my insurance in case I ever have to jump my starter from the trolling motor batteries.
