Battery Disconnects on boat

I see most newer and bigger boats have battery disconnect swtiches. My older Crestliner only has room for one battery and has 6 wires coming off one post . Starting , kicker motor starting , 2 fuse blocks , battery tender ect ect. I would like to clean this up a little. I see products like this https://thmarinesupplies.com/collections/all-products/products/hydra-multi-connection-marine-battery-terminals that look promising but wondering if I shouldnt be running a disconnect switch to shut the whole boat off while trailering down the road .

Any idea how to accomplish that or is it even a worry worth having? Hardly any room back in the battery box otherwise I could rig a switch to a bus bar but I dont think its possible.

If that bothers you mine would give you seizures.

Never had a problem where I wish I could shut everything off.

I’ve got a dual battery shutoff switch that is only powers main motor connected to my starting battery and one of my trolling motor batteries. This is in case my starting battery dies I can do a quick switch to a trolling motor battery to start the main motor, then switch back to charge the starting battery. I don’t use it as a shutoff in any way.

What you are suggesting is a nice to have for organizational purposes, but probably won’t provide any major functional benefit. If anything I’d get something like what you linked above if you need more ring terminal space and then zip tie more of the positive and negative wires together. The worst that could happen is you forget to hook something up in the spring.

Looks like 90% of the marine batteries out there. I’m not a fan of fixing things that aren’t broken. Unless there is a real reason I’d leave it alone.

That multi connection link you supplied is the one that I use. I would purchase again, as it does clean things up a bit.

I was trying to help out here but my replies keep getting shut off???
I get this screen that says in big red letters, oops, you already said that.
isu22andy, if I can help send me a pm, I can help you with a few options that will dress that up nicely without using much room.

i have something that always draws a little current and pulls my battery down. My dad added this little deal, so I slide the clip to the battery for full power and unclip when done. A little bush league, but works great.
