Has anyone else used the new FVP batteries?
I bought one last year at Menards on sale because my Interstate starting, and fleet farm deep cycle both gave up the ghost. This one has held up extremely well, it seems like I can run my gear a lot longer on it. It has the sight glass built in it to tell you if its charged. I have a new boat with a larger stereo, thinking about buying 2 of these deep cycles to put on it for the weekend.

I can tell you from experience there car batteries are terrible. I would recommend Interstate or Napa Legend. Or like I am thinking off doing making the leap to Lithium.

I just had a brand new Interstate take a dump on me. It was replaced under warranty but the boat dealership said battery failures are pretty common on all brands.

I’ll never own lead acid batteries again….last boat had AGM’s. I don’t know how I missed not upgrading batteries on the new one. Swapping 4 batteries on the new boat is gonna have a hefty pricetag.

Thanks guys, I grabbed 2 more FPV deep cycle and a starting battery. I forgot about the 11% off Menards has going on right now. It’s a no brainer at that price.
I’ll let you know how they work out.
On the old FVP’s I just ran the stereo for an hour with no problems while I was cleaning it up. I have a 200w kenwood and and a 200w sony head unit, plus a 9 inch SIMRAD SONAR/RADAR plotter.
