Pre-fishing?

I always wondered how many different ways to pre-fish a spot there are, and the benefits that go along with them.
Any thoughts or experiences??

I’ll go down a bank, weed line, channel or hump that looks good a few times.

I’ll pitch a crank bait or spinner bait on the way down; then I’ll flip on the way up. If I still don’t get squat, and if it looks real good, I’ll come back later that day or the next and especially if there’s a cloud or weather change.

I agree w/OTW …I usually try a couple different presentations on a spot….sometimes the change in lure is all it takes to spark a bite
