Have you guys had alot of success with this rig on the river?

I can think of quite a few applications for this technique and have to try it more this year.

We actually use it with a crawler or leeches on Petenwell and Castle Rock to fish the tons of underwater trees there are in the channel for walleye and smallmouth. One place in specific on CR you can almost always depend on walleye and bass to bite when they aren’t biting anywhere else, and Drop shot/doctored crappie rig is almost the only way you can get them.

MossBoss…Not sure how some of you guys take drop shotting and would guess I’ll get some ribbin for this, but last year I caught 40% of my fish this way..on the river that is (aka..BFL)… I took alot of time to practise this the way, and it paid off…I also have had some success gettting others to try it….I like using this method for bedding and spot fishing. You can catch fish in the shallows as well as deeper pools….The Miss River has plenty of ideal circumstances and situations that drop shottin works…I personnally will use it just like pitchin jigs in wood or slop…Yep, i said slop….I know it sounds goofy..good…that way, maybe I’ll have an edge…..yeah right…..Hey anyways, I’ll take the grief from some of the guys…cuz I know it works…If I ever see ya’s on the River (soon)..I’d be glad to show ya…. seriuosly give it a try..

Take that sissy pinwheeling contraption and give it to some guy chasing walleyes.
What you need is a 1oz jig and 80lb line.
