Caught my first bass in open water yesterday on a spinnerbait. It takes a nice sunny day and a little breeze to get them to hit a spinner and it was perfect. Had a couple of dinks a 2 and one about 2 3/4. Man did that feel good. . Gotta love small ponds early.

First time poster here. Thanks for a great site guys. I too caught my first fish this weekend. A couple buddies and I made a trip down to Lake of the Ozarks to fish and Table Rock to watch the final weigh-in of the B.A.S.S. tournament.

You sure aren’t kidding about needing sun to catch a few. Last Thursday and Friday it was cold, rainy, and windy. Our totals for those days: one 12″ largemouth and one 6″ green sunfish on dropshots. Saturday became sunny and we put 10 fish, 3 keepers, in the boat on jerkbaits, chompers, and tubes. It was nice to feel that tug again after a long winter. I’m looking forward to that first BFL May 15th on LaCrosse.

    Ben
