This spot I speak ok is just North of the ” Gun Club ” and 2 miles are so S of th Wakota Bridge. I have had luck everytime I went fishing for ” Cats ” Barges will pull in and out of this little honey hole and with that, brings in the ” Cats “. I have had the best luck from late July to mid September. 1oz weight with a ” Circle Hook ” and fish the bottom with a dead sucker ” cut the belly side from tail upwards towards the gills. There is also a Mayfly hatch that brings in an abundance of Bass and Panfish. You will know when to fish. Hit the Mayfly hatch!!

That’s funny! My old home pool had a grain elevator right on the bend by the boat ramp. When they were filling barges, the area just downstream would be a hotspot. Also would find ‘eyes in late fall/early winter when they were filling and running barges hard after the harvest to beat the ice. They spill a fair amount, always figured it attracted lots of little bait-sized fishies for the cats and ‘eyes. Cool observation!
