I’m usually done fishing smallmouth on the Mississippi by the time October rolls around, but then again it’s usually not +70deg in mid October. So, I found myself talked into one last smallmouth trip for the year. The weather was outstanding and the fish were bigger than they’ve been all year. I wish pictures could do the girth on these fish justice because they were basically round footballs. I’m just floored every time I target these fish at how large of a bait they will actually hit. Good times

Wow! Looks like you could throw a nice spiral with one of them.

Speakin of footballs, anybody notice that seagull in a wolf suit struttin around the expensive boxes at Target field the opening night of the baseball playoffs squaking “Mine! Mine!” just like the gulls in that kids cartoon Madagascar? What a coincidence–that was the same day the repatriotism (huh?) of Mr. M was announced. And weren’t there also some Wild seagulls that same day doing the Scandanavian waltz and fighting over a hockey puck? Sounded like they were screamin “Mine! Mine!” too!

Joe’s actually a really helpful guy. I’d bet he just lost track of this thread. Shoot him a PM as a reminder. I’m sure he’ll come through with the info you’re looking for once he knows someone has thrown a question his way.
