Where’s the trolling motor and livewell? I don’t see any rod lockers either.

We have a few airboats up here. I alway thought that they would be perfect for duck hunting but they are so loud all the other hunters would hate me.

you guys don’t know how passionate my hatered is for those things . when they come hoping over beaver dams and into your pothole as a flock of 20 greenies are circling…..or when they fire up that dam propeller and scare every duck in the swamp to IOWA!!! just errrks me the wrong way .

that being said…….you should have seen the pimpa$$ one we saw down at brownsville last fall. comletely incased in a plastic bubble…..doors out the front……sliding shooting windows out the side…….shadow grass stuff all around the outside……looked like one big moving island (with an airplane prop on the back )

the guy even had a little pop up window thingy that he could stick his head up into and look out of in order to drive.

    tackiest thing i’ve ever seen

I know that guy. It is quite the rig. He has some major $$$ invested in it. I’d like to have it.

It sounds like that guy needs to buy a new alarm clock instead of getting rid of the airboat. You won’t scare the birds if you get to your spot at 3:00AM.

I’ve always had one unanswered question about those craft. If a cigarette boat owner can be ticketed for excessive noise levels due to insuffcient or absent mufflers for the exhaust, how can it be legal to run one of those anywhere at any time on a public waterway? They are the loudest form of personal transportation I’ve EVER heard short of a private jet! Are they exempt somehow? Just curious more than anything. I run across one every couple years up here on pool 4 so they’re not what I would consider a real issue or anything.

The noise issue is the same on Harley Davidson Bikes versus others or loud trucks. If it came out of the factory loud it is legal. If it is an aftermarket add-on intended to be loud it is illegal. Is it fair? I do not think so, but that is how the law reads.
