Your trapped on a deserted island in the middle of the Mississippi and you can only fish with one lure to make it through from spring, summer and fall. What one will give you the best ability to survive from the fish you catch with it?

    Yes only ONE.

Just to help us learn a bit more….Where you find it the most useful and at what time of the year,( if it matters)

Thanks, can you see that Cabin fever has set in!!

    snow

Clarifications: Yes this is for bass, Yes you still get your boat to fish, ( not to get back to shore and go home though )

    Well I will start,
I would have to say a tube 4″ watermelon with some red flecks. Flippen along some rip rap in later spring early summer. I have found that to be a great time although I am not very skilled at it yet.

For me it would T.S. subworm [slick worm]black and blue.Fishing P.2 [494-61]we really had a a hard time finding bass, but always found all other game fish, when we started fishing subworms we always make contact now, we can always change presitation, texas rig, weightless, drop shot, carolina rig, wacky worm. This is a great bait to use fishing with all these presitation.

    Haywood,
I assume that you would be surviving on a variety of fish if I understand the question correctly. In that case I would choose a 1/4 oz leadhead jig and a white (3X) single tail grub. That will catch any fish that swims. If you are posing a more pertinent question regarding a bass only lure for all seasons I would say that you could do much worse than the white jig but I would likely have to say a white spinnerbait!

Tough call. 4″ Black tube with red flakes has saved me more than once from having an empty sack.

    White spinnerbait, no question.

And, if it didn’t catch me bass, we *ALL* know we’d get a few toothy critters to smoke!

Now, if I could have 2… pumpkin w/ black fleck tube…

Alright perhaps we are reading into this toooo deep. What I was after is what bait is your “GO TO” in most situations. If you call a tube you can have unlimited numbers of the kind and color you pick.
