Great rod for flippin’ a jig or tossin’ tubes.

I own a couple 6’8″XF and a 7″F… The 6’8″ are GREAT for plastics, but a bit too whippy for jerkin’ some lips out of cover, but the 6’6″ MF would be great!

Nice purchase! Maybe I will go check them out….

Yes, i use the ac66mf for just about everything. It may be a little light for heavy flipping, but mine works great for senkos, tubes, and smaller (1/4-3/8 oz) spinnerbaits. I think you will be very pleased with it. Fyi- i broke the tip top of my rod, called them and received a replacement in about a week- I have had great luck so far with the lifetime warantee on the avid series.

I have several Avid 6’6″ rods and I love them. The are very light-weight and sensitive. I use mine for pitchin plastics, spinnerbaits, and swimming jigs. This is a great all around bass fishing rod.

    Dan,

I have one AC66MF. I use it mostly for pitching tubes,
soft jerk baits, and shad bodies to deep weed lines, or
any more open water cover. For heavy cover, I have a
pair of AC70MFs that I run 15 fluoro on, for a little
more muscle to move fish. The AC66MF has great
sensitivity, so when I can get away with it, I
use it. For practice fishing, I will use it on
docks, and log jams, but when the money is on the line,
I will sacrifice a little sensitivity, for more power,
by moving up to the AC70MF. There is a good difference
in the blank diameter between the AC66MF, and the AC70MF.
Together they make a great set of tools to match to the
task. Actually I am a St. Croix Avid junkie
I added a AC69MLXF to the rod pile last year, and it has
become a favorite small jig, and lighter plastics, rod.
I do love the sensitivity, but my heart is in my throat
every time I set the hook, and there is serious weight
at the other end. This rod blank is probably better
suited for spinning rods, but if you like living on the
edge, take a long look at that model.
