Just wanted to let you know that the Wal-Mart in Hudson has a heck of a deal on a couple of Spiderwire Reels (Mitchell).

They have SCP300L on sale for $30.00. Original was $84.96.

They are closing out last years models. After I was there, they have two left. Don’t know if all Wal-Mart stores are doing the same but the clerk thought they wre. You might want to take advantage of a great deal.

Save yourselves the trip guys……………all the reels are gone. All Wal-Marts are the same ONLY in that they will phaxe out the old stuff. Every store has it’s own department managers that determine what clearance prices will be set. Stillwater still has items on clearance from last year’s clearance! Hudson’s manager likes to get rid of the dust collector’s and usually sets prices to get the job done. Anoka and Stillwater are well known for a “clearance” similar to Fleet Farm’s……………10% off until it’s ancient! Other “good” stores to check are Bloomington and White Bear Lake. There are many more locations but those two have produced monster clearances on fishing gear before as well.

I just went to the Walmart in Madison and I saw the Spiderwire reel mentioned above, but it was being sold at $70, so the store you goto might have a different price. I did find some nice IM6 Quantum baitcast rods on sale for $10, marked down for $25. So I picked up a few. Now I just need to find some markdown reels to put on them.

Crimeny Cripes, I’m sponsored by Pure Fishing and I can’t get’m that cheap. I posted some comments on that reel several months ago. It’s was one of the best reels on the market last year! 2002 model is the – SC300P (should be the same). When Pure Fishing bought Spider out, they realized

that the reel was good and is starting to faze a lot of that stuff out so as to get to one “flagship” line (Abu Garcia).

Buy all ya can afford. They save ! Your going to be fishing all your life ! Unless there’s some technological backthrough (I doubt it) only the cosmetics will change.

It’s good to see some Bass guys using something other than boomsticks and winchs and 30lb test that all the TV dudes use !! Keep up the good work – you’ll enjoy fishing a lot more!!!!
