Does anybody know what the MN Pro/Am is planning on doing for their first tournament? Their website has the date as May 22, but the site is yet to be determined. Is it still in pool 4 and 5?

Also, do they have a limit of 100 boats per tournament? I’m thinking about entering the circuit for all the tournaments, but wondering how soon I’d need to pay all the entry fees. Maybe its too late already?

I see on their website that the first tournament has been moved to pools 5A, 6, and 7. Anybody know why?

    Sports Anchor,

The MN Pro/Am didn’t get one of the large field MN Tournament Permits for pool 4/5 in May. The permit process allows 3 large (over 50 boats) and an unlimited number of small permits per month. I make the application for the KFAN/St. Judes tournament so I was aware of the process. The Walleye Searchers of Rochester has a traditional status and are guaranteed a slot. There were 2 bass groups, 2 walleye groups and us trying for the 2 remaining slots, which was settled via a lottery. We got a large permit for our tournament for this year because we lost the lottery last year. One of the bass groups went to WI after they lost to get a permit. That might be political suicide.
